I've spoken with Brash today, I thought he'd like to hear you kind folks comments and he'd like to say thank you to you all that he's very touched and grateful for your kind words.... He would be back in a heartbeat if he could!! :)
 
Did you tell him I called him a great big eejit? I didn't, but he would have liked that.

what caused Brash to be that way?

If you give some, (just a few) people on this forum enough reasons to dislike you – they will, without knowing you, understanding what you have said or taking the time to assess the situation and trying ....... they hit the RTM at the first opportunity...... they must see "you" as a threat to "something"

The UK DNA has always had a unique “culture” a better word exists but I cannot think what it is, (I’m a old sod)........ in this respect

We even had the situation developing in this thread - that's why i felt it needed a comical change of direction

I have posted some of my “toys” I could post a lot more – part of the UK psychic immediately dislikes me for doing so with knowing my history or me.

So now I am disliked ….. which is natural for some in the UK, I could be called arrogant, vain and selfish ... but am I or do I just appear to be on here?

That is what happens on the surface on here, I have seen it a few times. The Mods have to deal with people (us) and I see their job as very difficult and they do a good one. But IMHO were the real problems lie are with a few individuals who think that they are intellectually superior in some sort of way to everyone else and have to prove it to all concerned – that is where the real arrogance and vanity lies.

We even had the situation developing in this thread - that's why i felt it needed a comical change of direction

I travel a lot - spend quite a lot of time away in various countries, we are retired and have been for some time - 15 years - I like posting images from all over the place - I do so because I like talking photos and posting images on here - if they are interesting to some that's great

Brash was wrong, has been wrong, many of "the banned" were wrong - but why did they react in that way? - it built up over time and then the "train" could not be stopped ............ banning, is that a solution in such a case as Brash's - IMHO he has contributed to the Forum significantly and it's just a pity, (although I think that he is a t*** sometimes).............., IMHO it is never a simple yes/no .....

just my ramblings

I’m almost 70, bought the Bike new in 1984 and the Porsche in 1989, bought the SAAB with 9,000 on the clock . and I could go on ……. I have looked after them very carefully and they are now worth more than I paid for them ...... I have worked hard all my life

But there are lines we shouldn't cross. He wasn't banned for being Brash, for his blunt manner, he was banned for very good reasons.

It's nice you are considering his motives and background, I haven't seen this softer side of your personality on similar issues. It's not really about the warnings or the points, it's all about the straw that broke the camels back, and I'm sure you don't approve of bullying. though you do seem to be fond of the odd personal attack so I can understand your sympathies there.

You know, some people seem to think we ban people for fun, we don't.
Its an absolute last resort, if we did it for fun, there would be a lot less members.

Once its suggested someone should leave following numerous indiscretions,
there is then a long discussion thread in the staffroom, with points on both sides being raised,
the majority of votes, plus at least one admin has the final say.

Sometimes they stay sometimes they don't.
 
Hasn't been this much fuss since Arcady got binned :)

I actually liked Brash, enjoyed the banter with him, despite what some think I'm not a delicate flower and don't take offence easily.
I like people that can dish out the insults and take them back, all part of the fun, shame some people can't see that and have to
turn everything into an argument

it's always amusing to see someone who is banned from a forum, being celebrated for the indiscretions that led them to being banned

yeah, 'Brian' contributed to the bird forum, but he didn't say anything that couldn't be found elsewhere


his contributions to the general forum though, were poisonous and thankfully, his kin took themselves out of the loop and are concentrating on contributing on photography

You don’t have to like someone to appreciate their input. I tend to agree with most things that Katie Hopkins says, but I certainly wouldn’t want her as a friend.
Now there’s a statement that should keep this thread rolling for a while longer.:D

They usually revert to type, and at the next perma-ban conference, we're less charitable... we do IMO give people far too many "last chances" - the subject of this thread was one such person - frankly, reviewing his "notes" I don't think there has been anyone who was more deserving of a permanent ban, and frankly it was at least 2 years overdue. End Of.

Nope, it's run it's course, we;ve made it clear he was banned permanently, won't be coming back with any of the owners blessing, and certainly won't be missed by any of the staff.

So with that, there's only one thing remaining...
