Brands Hatch which lens you recommend?

when I was doing the photos for the bmws last year dependant on my location i used anything from 17mm - 500mm on a crop body

I've shot inside and outside the fence and mostly used my 100-400, but it depends where you go( that was on a crop)

Depends what your shooting, your style and the weather.

A 70-200 2.8 and converter can be used without the converter, whereas the 100-400L is f/4.5 - f/5.6 so is less good in lower light conditions.

7D has big cropping potential. I use a 70-200 and a 300mm prime at Brands Hatch (for cars) on a 1d4 and 7d and crop if necessary.

Right full answer is, it depends on what you are shooting and where you a standing. Motorbikes or cars.
With a crop camera then you'll have plenty of reach with either 100-400 or 70-200 with 2x. The 70-200 would give you slightly more flexibility but I never found an issue with the 100-400 and low light and you have slightly more useable range.this was with my 50d and the 7d is a much better camera.

Just looked through my last shots, Some places you'll need long, other such as inside Druids you could be down to 50mm

Well I took a 70-200 f2.8 IS USM and x2 extender MK II, with me borrowed from my uncle, 1st thing i noticed was it was awful lot heavier than my 70-200 f4 non IS
