Yes
Its clear that alot of you guys go to Oulton Park for track days and race days to get some shots.
Does anyone do it a Brands Hatch? or more to the point does anyone know if you can do it at Brands Hatch?

Cheers Matt

i think you can at brands, ive been known to loiter in the warmer months.

Check out their website, track days are usually on during the week, I think there's a calender of dates and (don't quote me on this) but I think it's free to wander in on these days, but better check. Lots of good vantage places for photography, Surtees, Druids, 70-200mm lens, Hailwood Hill and Paddock Hill Bend probably 400mm to get through the fencing. Also some good spots on the GP circuit, but they will probably only use the indi circuit for track days

Yes you can go in during track days and testing. Usually theres someone sitting in the entrance gate, and just tell them your there to watch and they let you through but i usually end up just driving straight through. And you can then park up and go wherever you want, excluding the pit lane.
All details about dates are on the motorvision website:
https://tickets.motorsportvision.co.uk/calendar/search.asp?circuit=bh&type=all&grade=0
If you look on the left there is track days and testing and a quick search of google will give you other dates.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help guys!

I will get along there some point!

Does anyone else on here go there often?

Im planning to visit. Would like to give my gear a bit of a workout.

I've never found Brands that great for photos due to high fences, but that's what makes it fun! You have to stand on bins and learn to shoot through fences - Give it a go :)

Couldn't disagree more, Inside Druids area is a great area with no fencing in the way, all of the GP Circuit has no fences in the way, Paddock Hill can be shot with 300-400mm if you are clever as can the last corner from on the banking all with no fences at all, only real fence issue place is outside of Druids, but with all the other places its great, also if you go on a quali day for BTCC or other big events its only £10/12 quid which is a bargain

Inside Druids you only need 70 to 150mm max same goes for most of the extended circuit longer lens for last corner and Paddock Hill

All shot on 70-300VR

In a lot of these places you are no more than about 15-20 metres from the edge of track, Druids you can get amazingly close

Hi, yes I have been there a few times and would recommend Druids and Surtees for the best fence free views. Whoops, giving away my secrets

oooo - if anyone does go to Brands, give me a shout and I'll meet you for a beer :D:D:D We can hear Brands from ours on a clear day

Paddock looks like a good corner for me. :)

I know the safety fences are there for a reason so dont crucify me for saying this but if you go there on a trackday or test day usually its quiet so you can go between the fences, you can get better shots at corners where the fences are hard to shoot through. Either that or get talking to the marshals ;-)
Oh and also if theres a hatch that is sometimes open on the outside of clark curve by the motorvision offices which you can get some good shots through.

Errrm in all the time I've been to Brands (and that is a fair bit...) I can't say I've ever felt the fencing is OTT.

What you have to do if you havent got a clue is to go out and walk around the track and spot the bits you can use.

I'd actually say its one of the few "big" tracks I've seen anywhere that you have as much opurtunity from the public side of the fence.

And out on the full GP circuit you've got even more!

Oh and yes you can visit track days if you want... just check out the diary as mentioned above.

I would be up for that. As I mentioned above I was thinking of heading down for the British Superbikes in April. Probably on the Friday (bank holiday) and the Sunday.

I may well post a thread nearer the time to see if we can get a meet set up for it :)

Not crucifying you but if you are let trackside (which from my personal experience is doubtful) you will be in a potentially very dangerous place and you have to be watching all the time.

And of course they will throw you out if they see you...
