Yes
Ok, a strange bit of product placement just to get the Nikon Brand out there!

Or just some horrid Jekyll & Hyde Creation

Screen Grab from BBC Torchwood 4x04

I thought Nikon produced a few grey coloured lenses ?

Ah, just noticed the Canon on top

Yeah and the Body is a Canon 1D with a Sticker over the EOS 1, the D Logo inked out and the NIKON Logo added over the top of the Canon logo on the body!

I'm guessing the BBC looking to defend themselves agenst criticism of product placement by featuring both major brands?

Yeah but I suppose my thinking, is that even legal,

Could Canon not get upset and sue the BBC / Producers over the fact that they are representing Canon Kit (A EOS 1D Body) as a Nikon,

Not sure if its a sticker but from the grabs I have seen the Nikon logo is really well done, compared to the really stupid KCJ26 Sticker used to hide the EOS 1 Logo on the body (The Little Silver "D" under the KCJ26 has also just been clumsily blacked out with paint (A lot easier to see in the full size images).

Maybe I am totally off track here but I just thought it would be wrong Morally if not legally to be passing off Canon Kit as Nikon..

It works both ways ;)

I doubt either manufacturer cares, there is no such thing as bad publicity, Nikons/Canons name on anything on TV is free advertising.

How come the speedlight is attached via cable to a little gadget on the hot-shoe?

I can understand using that for controlling the flash off camera - but if you're using it there surely it's easier to just put the flash on the hotshoe?

Or would it be a longish lead, so you can just whip the flash off and hand hold it?

For TV & Film Work like this the cable will allow the actor/extra to fire the flash at will without worring about camera controls, as the camera is probably faulty/dead anyway if its being used for prop work.

If you look at the cable that comes out of the flash adaptor under the flashgun, it goes to the silver release button near her finger, again so she can fire the flash without any camera controls,

Did anyone think that perhaps the tog was just soooo ashamed of having Canon equipment while on TV and simply forgot to re-label the flash?? :p

Seems to affect the Nikon Togs as well.

Same Show Same Episode - Guy's D200 has had Nikon removed from front and the strap taped up to hide the Nikon logos .:D

And from the look on his face pressing the shutter button, I would say a laxative is in order!

Ignoring all the camera stuff for a minute - how on earth can that call that programme "Torchwood" ? They might have two of the main characters still but that is about it ! Very disappointed so far

Yeah agree with that, it's a bit like anything the US networks get hold of,

Flush & Hold..

So far its been a bit of a car wreck in slow motion - "VERY Slow Motion"
