Yes
Our second child is due soon and I could do with some potential names. We seem to be struggling. It seems that what ever I like my wife does not and visa-versa.

So far we have only Marco we both agree on but also think this will be dependant on his appearance.

My wife likes Jake, Oliver, Noah and Dominic.

I had Dariusz but everyone says no because of a program called the X-Factor :cuckoo:

Any more suggestions gratefully considered.

Well we went with Thomas, quite a popular name at the moment, as are Jake, Oliver and Noah. Its never an easy thing to agree on though.

On a slightly unrelated note our daughter was named Hannah after we were served my a girl called Hannah in a Costa coffee in Cheltenham. We had been trying to decide on a name for ages and that was where the inspiration came from!

Little miss wisemen is Annie Francis, and young master wisemen is Austin Freddie.

Lewis

My fourteen month old is Rowan Ellis. Our short list included Isaac, Frederick, Harvey and Sebastian.

Nikon??

I couldn't choose a boys name, luckily we had 2 girls

I quite like Tristan though

I remember reading through the names in film credits trying to get inspiration

We had real issues with our son, we didn't like each others names at all.

Then one name came out we both loved.

Finley, shortened to Finn.

our son is Haydn (welsh version of Hayden but derived from Aiden) Always remember to look at the meaning of names and what the initials would be, had a friend who's initials were J.C.B not good for a girl on the large side

My mates youngest boy is called Rayan. His middle name is Bo and their surname is Lyons. Like my mate says, he will have the p..s taken out of him for a few short years and then it will be a talking point

I went to school with Tina Salmon

Thanks guys, some good names there, a couple to be put forward for consideration.

Any additional ones appreciated.

He has forever tainted that name.

mmmmmm never watch it before....... How long before people will forget?

I am quite traditionalist and always liked names of previous kings. Son is James William so managed to get 2 kings in there.

Leo :)

Dexter

Dallas

(seriously), I love the name Dallas.

Might have something to o with Dalllas Green , of Alexisonfire/City & Colour

I like Tristan, Caleb or Logan

my boy is Thomas Frank David, the reason for this name is both my wife and myself lost our dads within 6 months, Thomas was conceived just after my dad died in the feb, we had already decided on Thomas (for a boy) from when our girls were due, and Frank a that was my dads middle name, David then came in after my wife's dad died. So it a little reminder of the 2 grandads he never met.

when naming my children i wanted something many others didn't have so if you could get something in a shop with "that" name already printed on it "that" name went out of the window. My lad is a Grant shawn and a pain in the butt...

Fathers, Grandfathers, Great Grandfathers names are always good bets.

Tristan always reminds me of that kid out of George and Mildred

My wife's friend in Canada has just had a baby last night... they've called him Axl!

They have 2 other boys as well... Ashton and Tyler. Quite like Ashton thinking about it.

My boy is Jack.. funny how kids suit their names.. the amount of people who say... 'he's a proper Jack isn't he'... whatever that mean

Being half italian I prefer either traditional english or traditional italian names:
Bradley Charles
Valentino Forenz
Bruno
Pierre Louie (pronounced Pee-airr)
Gino
Edward
Harvard
Amerigo
Alessandro

I've always said that when I'm lucky enough to have kids and if I had a boy, I'd like to name him after my Granddad, well kinda....... My Granddad's name was Ronald (shortened to Ron) but would probably go with Ronnie instead.

The trouble is my Fiancée's name is Rachael so Russ, Rachael and Ronnie is a bit much and there would be 3 people with the same initials

Could always make it a middle name :)

Any biblical or old style names are always a good bet.

George,

Jack,

Jacob,

Edward

Whatever you do please remember that your son will have to live with the name. Don't make it too radical or he may grow up resenting you!

Like some kids I know being named "Levi", "Diesel" & "River"

There's a lot to be said for Dewey based names. It hasn't done my two boys - GT1.M.1, GT2.M.2 and their sister, GT3.F.1 any harm whatsoever.

Surely the most important thing is how the first name goes (or doesn't) with the last name.

So Jake is fine (a bit Tweenie-ish) unless your surname is LePeg (diddlediddlediddledum)

Oliver's good unless your surname is Hardy, Cromwell or Sarmy

He probably won't thank you for Noah whatever your surname but definitely not if your surname is Sark, Mower or Andthewahl.

Alliteration can be good if done carefully but all things considered I'd go with Dave. Everyone likes Dave (which is why they named the TV channel thus).

Our first (a girl) we named darcey and at the time it was not very common and when we had our 2nd (a boy) we thought again about an uncommon name so we went for Xavier, and now expecting our 3rd any day from now, we are going to call him/her.............

No chance....the wife would kill me lol

I really liked Joshua, but the mother in law hated it (we never discussed names after that) so we went with something else in the end which we love (Elias, shortened to Eli).

I'm not remotely religious, but I do love the biblical names.

I think boys names are much harder than girls names - we had loads on the girls names we both liked, but the boys name list was a vast wilderness of despair bar a few!

Leyland...
Dont think that will work :|

Valentino
I like Valentino but I'm on my own there

The trouble is my Fiancée's name is Rachael so Russ, Rachael and Ronnie is a bit much and there would be 3 people with the same initials
Think thats bad, try Mariana (Wife), Mayah (Daughter), Millie (Dog), Martin (Brother), Merisha (Sis-in-Law). Hurts my head, any one can get called anything really but thats the problem with the name Marco which we both like :bang:

Just a few for consideration:-
Peregrine, Gawain, Alfred, Edgar, Hedley, Egbert, Athelstan, Edmund, Oswald,Sighere, Seward, Oswin, Offa, Edwin, Eric.

Sometimes it is a good idea to choose a name which can't be abbreviated.

Peter

Zak, Caleb, Reece, Ryan, Rio Too many to list.

And sometimes it isn't :D

Think what the name will sound like as an adult, they won't be children forever, also fashionable names can be a lead weight when you're 35

My parents called me Darren , ok when you're 10, not so good at 51 I've never liked it, my wife laughs whenever there's a scumbag on a cop show called Darren

Marco?! Seriously? Is your surname Beckham? Bit poncy otherwise. Sorry just my opinion.
