Boycotting the Xmas No 1

Ahh victory is ours :)

RATM is no 1 :)

Urrah!!!

Cowell part owns Sony, through one of his umbrella companies. the name evaes me as of this minute but anyone trying to avoid giving cowell any money by buying a RATM single which is on Sony is not doing it right

boyott the charts by not buying anything at all is probably the only way to not give cowell some sort of recognition/money.

personally i hate the xfactor crap that they churn out, it all sounds the same and is incredably poorly produced pap. its so 'catchy' becuase you've heard it already, in 142379075 guises. RATM are a good band, but I did my part for them when their albums were out the first time ;)

If they're so rubbish, you go make a fortune by writing, playing and selling music.

they don't write, play or even sell their own music as such. xfactor winners are just puppets, who get massively rich becuase the marketing behind them is so strong that even the most soul less drivel of a tune could rake someone in £1million becuase of the sheer selling force of a simon cowell/xfactor product.

think back to some of the winners - there have been some talented ones and some **** ones. but they all sold lots, and made lots of money. every year, each new winner 'breaks records' for sales...its not so much that they are talented, but more they have great marketing behind them.

their music is pre written for them...
the most they do is sing, and even that is auto tuned most of the time...
and they generally have no part in the marketing of the music as its almost garanteed that whoever wins the xfactor, will sell loads of records as its an 'in' thing.

i'm not against the winners, as musicians, even though i dont like that sort of music thats on the show. i just dont like pop music becuase it is 95% about image and sounding the same as everything else and as a listener and a music producer I find it mostly dull, uninspiring, predictable and very repetitive.

Amazing, facebook saves us from the x factor. Who saves the world from facebook???????:lol:

If this is all some great scheme from Sony, then it's total genius.

Does nobody find it ironic that we did exactly 'what we were told' by the Facebook campaign group to get RATM to number 1?? Perhaps the true rebels were those that bought Geordie Joe's single....:D

Couldn't agree more :) One crap song replaces another, the record companies must be rubbing their hands.

No, just the one company, Sony.

"And now you do what they told ya. And now you're under control" culminating in Zack de la Rocha screaming "**** you, I won't do what you tell me! Mother****er!"

Personally, I would have bought the Muppets if it had a chance of winning.

I thought they did win  :D

'tis a bit of a shock I must admit as this has been tried before
I don't like the song but at least it shot that smug git up the ass

Oh the irony is just overwhelming, doesn't stop everyone who bought RATM being so smug about it though...

It's for Charidee mate... :D
