Yet another one kills himself...........a 17 year old in a Corsa, that is two in the same number of weeks where I live.

What a waste of life.

When will they ever learn.

I feel sorry for the parents.

At least that won't happen to our Matt, his Corsa is never on the road long enough to build up any speed ;)

Think of it as Darwinism at work...as long as they don't take anyone else out along the way...

It is a dangerous road - it's littered with upside-down Vauxhalls...

It doesn;t mention anything about them being boy racers?

I would find it very unlikely a 28 year old would go out boy racing with a 17 year old kid.

I think maybe people are seeing the age and jumping to conclusions here.

It is a waste of life - a minor crash with no one else involved might knock some sense into them. Although, saying that, I know of a couple of youngsters who are on their 3rd car because they have written off their previous cars (one of these youngsters is 18 btw). Their parents just keep buying them new cars
They seem to see it as a game where they can press restart every time they crash and they'll get a new car and their health will be back to 100%.
I really don't know what it takes to knock sense into some people

I used to drive pretty recklessley, nothing has concequences when you are younger. Just point the car and go flat out everywhere. It's pretty stupid looking back on it, but unfortunately it's just one of those things that's fun at the time until something bad happens. Planted my MK4 Escort in to a hedge and wrote it off after driving it for two weeks after I passed my test, was gutted about that but luckly wasn't hurt. A grand for a 17 year old was/is a lot of money and obviously could only afford 3rd party fire and theft insurance.

Funny, cause now I have a Golf GTI 1.8T I drive it like a grandad everywhere :/

Don't think I grew out of it until I was about 21 :(
