It would be interesting to get a feel what *bargains* people managed to find on Boxing day sales.

I personally didn't get very lucky with camera equipment :gag: and had to settle for 2 pairs of shoes, trousers and a pair of shirt, all at half price :D.

Tamron 70 300 di ld macro sony fit £99, Jessops 360afd £69. Lowepro mini trekker bag £59. All from Jessops, and that my chrimbo money spent;)

I had a Xmas eve bargain of a Canon 50mm f1.2 for £1010 inclusive...

Hi Paul,
Excuse me being a bit cheeky, but I have a Jessops 360AFN that I purchased without a manual. Is there any way you could scan and email me a copy, or post a copy? I tried Jessops support but got no reply. Would be most grateful if this was poss? (Sorry - to thread hijack. Couldn't find a way to PM you.

Got myself a blu ray player from richer sounds. Sony bdps360 for £79. Absolute bargain, nicely made, looks sleek all in black and is silent when in use:)

That CF card is a steal at jessops, I've only just paid 18.70 for the 4Gb version.

You can use code jessops5 to get an extra 5% off the CF card, price is then £20.90.

Thats a b****r! the 5% code works on the 8gig card but the nearest store showing it is 20 miles away thats a tenner in fuel to go get it :(

Got a link for this?

VOUCHERSANDDEALS5

is the 5% discount code

and the card is here

about half way down the page

30mb/s is the same speed isn't it?

A card's speed depends entirely on the devide it's reading from or writing to. For example, bench tests I've read show that Extreme III cards write faster to an Extreme III card reader than Extreme IV cards.

OK, but as a general guide, the rated read/write speed is generally used isn't it? And those two cards have the same read/write speed and are made by the same manufacturer, so it's not too great a leap to say that they'll be roughly equivalent?

when I use the quidco one, it only takes 5%, not 8%?
Also can you only use one or the other? Not the two together?

IF you are planning to get it from the Perth store, I got the last one y'day
And they kindly provided me with the newer 60Mb/s version

Some consolation - they said they should potentially get some more on Monday

I'd say that, given the example I gave above, yes it would.

Whether it affects you is for you to decide, but it's better that you can make informed choice, Shirley?

Where can you get that information?

Anyway, I was just pointing out that you can get a similar card for less money and it's not a special offer and you don't have to collect it from the shop. Obviously, if you're dead set on having the particular card Jessops are selling, then the one I linked to is no good.

seems there is very little stock. Nothing in Bournemouth Poole or Brighton

You need a quidco account and have to go from the quidco site via click through to Jessops site.
Quidco will then refund the 8% off the pre vat price independent of Jessops although this may take some time to show in your quidco account.
When at J's check out you put in the 5% disc code which shows as an immediate disc on the listed price.

If you don't have a quidco account try topcashback as they don't charge any fees.
There may also be an affiliate link in TP to help fund the site.

That's only an Ultra, not an Extreme III though.
The 7day Ultra is a bare card only, no box, etc. Have one, reg'd ok on sandisk site but then anything does. Speed timings ? I'm not fast enough to tell the diff. I suspect the 30mbs ultras are 60mbs failures or overruns of the 30mbs ext 3's, bit like intel celerons, now they've moved on to 60mbs rather than a new card.

You b****r, what time did you go in?
Must of just beat my dad, who was told they had sold out!
Will pop in tomorrow and see if they have new stock.

Nearest to me is 187miles away - Edinburgh according to Jesopps site :bang:

Just reserved one from Jessops in Scarborough. Last one, it seems (tried to reserve 2!). With Quidco & the 5% on top, works out at less than £19.50.

Hopefully my folks will be able to collect it before Thursday morning for me!

They seem to be out of stock in most areas of the country.

Can anyone who has bought one confirm if it is definitely the 30Mb/s version of the Extreme III ?
