Hi, due to a tight budget I purchased a Bower Flash supposedly compatible with my canon 400d, however when I take a photo' the gun flashes after the shot has been taken, it's as if it is out of sync', any help would be much appreciated.
It's a Bower auto focus SFD 35 C. I am quite new to this site and have been helped previously so I am hoping I can get some idea as how to make this work.

Thanks,

Wayne

A few questions to get a handle on this Wayne.

Does the Bower's ETTL light come on?
What mode are you shooting in?

Try a shot in manual mode (M) without the flash....use the meter to get good exposure. Take the same shot using the flash but not changing any settings....what do the two shots look like?.

Thanks canon bob and safe cracker, sorry I'm late in replying to your suggestions. My mate is having a look at the problem at the mo' as soon as I get my rig back will try what you advise and get back to the forum, I think the ettl light does come on, someone suggested it is for a Rebel as opposed to a 400d ? I thought basically they were the same.
Anyhow thanks again will post outcome soonest.

Hi Bob, I've tried every mode, the ettl light comes on and the unit flashes, but like I said previously the flash seems out of sync with the camera. a freind has tried with the same results. I did as you suggested and took a shot in maual mode put the flash on and the results were exactly the same. It's frustrating because it works but incorrectly. I've contacted Bower but as I read in other forums Bower tend not to reply, so I am stuck with a useless bit of kit
