I just picked up an old set of lights, a bowens quad 2000 and two heads. Im trying to get them to work with my current bowens lights but for some reason when I use my triggers in them it only flashes for a couple cycles then stops.

Could be my triggers but they seem fine in the new bowens.

Am I able to run a PC sync cord from my 5dmk2 to the old bowens quad 2000 powerpack or will it fry?

just some info :

on the old bowens quad 2000 with one outlet ,
at the top right there are two female plugs ,
the top one is SYNC
the bottom is FM [?].....

do not use the FM plug !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

note for this type of old flash gen. if talking photos with
digital camera you best use IR sync .....

I'm guessing here and may be wrong, but my guess is that the trigger voltage is too high for your radio triggers (let alone for a direct connection to your camera).

I think that the only safe bet will be to plug a slave sensor into the synch socket, which will be the old 6.5mm version, and to use the pack as a slave fired by another flash head.

due to I have the the same units, one just went on the blink !!!! , with what you described.
take the unit for a service, blow all the dust out.
and have a technical check of the voltage current. inside there are four safety resistors one is about to go !!!!!
