I'm 19 and just started college (3 years late). Taking Media Communications, Illustration & Design, Film studies and Photography.

Decided I need a new camera. Got my eye on the 400D. If anyone wants to tell me to get something else be my guest. Any advice is appreciated. Like places where I can get this new and the cheapest.

Processed my first Photogenic piece today. Was good fun :thumbs:

Hi Oh Great One!

400D is a cracking camera :D wont try and make you buy anything else ;) If you are doing a photography course it might be worth buying a film SLR too :D

I'm having to borrow some money to be able to afford the 400D. No spare cash for a film SLR :(

I am more of a digital guy anyway and I can rent out film SLRs from the college is I need to.

Loving all my minions. Where's the current owner so I can tell him to pack his bags? :bat:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Don't worry I am not the type of member to post a welcome thread and never return. But my photography knowledge is null so I will mainly be reading threads and taking the info in for the moment.

I apologise. Its hard to get out of my pimping mode from college. I'm 19 and own a car so the college which is full of 16 year old young women just swoon around me. I don't know if it's my good looks or if they want me to purchase them a alcoholic beverage. Either way I'm not too fussed.:naughty:

I have no camera yet so no pictures for you lot to see. but here's one I took a while back

It was taken with the family's digital camera so don't expect wonders :p

Do you discuss the history of photography here? Got some work which needs to be in tomorrow. Just need to do a small piece on 4 specific photographers and don't know where to get good information from. Wikipedia is rubbish.

and what's with all the child remarks? Is it because those grey hairs are coming through quicker than you imagined? :eek:

the 200 is older and less refined than the 25 series...if a rover rot box can be refined

I didnt have the extra £2000 for the 25. The difference between the two wasn't worth the extra.

I was just putting you straight that's all. ;)

Rover 200?? I killed mine in around 70k miles! :lol: still have a spare pair of brake shoes if you want them!!!

History of Photography?..... hmmm.... NOW you're trying to get US to do your homework??? :D

and as for grey, none here yet!!!! just lots of lovely, very long brunette!!! :naughty:
