After wanting to try a new hobby i bought myself a Canon 700D which my son 'borrowed' from me following the birth of his 1st child. A colleague told me he was selling his DSLR (Canon 7D) which he just was not using. I promptly bought it from him along with 3 lenses. Now when he said he had not used it much, I did wonder what is not much. I have taken around 350 pictures since buying it.
I have just done a shutter count and it shows 867 shutter activations.......happy to say I have bought myself an almost new camera to kick start my new hobby :)

Welcome and that seems a top deal

Welcome Steve.

Sounds like you made a good deal. :)
What lenses did you bought?

Still more than happy with my 7D for most things - they're rated for about 150,000 shutter actuations, so get busy! :D

Now you may just need something fast, like a 50 1.8 or something. It's another "level". ;)

I love my 50. Took it out yesterday for a spin of chatsworth house and the markets.top lens!

Yes, it's always a good focal length and a fast lens changes things a bit.
Not so good in a crop body, IMO.

Good buy. Check it has the latest firmware.
have tried to, I use a Mac and have had an issue loading the Canon software. Was told it may be due to the latest Apple update, so waiting for an update from Apple then will try again

When I wasn't shooting wildlife, my 7D was firmly connected to my 17-55 f2.8, it made for a wonderful combination.
