Bought a 40D..

I thought it better i get sorted and stop waiting around for christmas!! as im not sure the other thing is going to work out.. i still want it but i gotta get sorted, i want to goto the studio shoot and my 400D is in the menders and might not be back intime!! anyway, the 40D is a better camera and thats what i need. i still want a FF camera so im still looking.. :thumbs:

Wrong in what way??

They promise to pay the TAX, so thats not a problem, iv bought a few items now from HK and iv never payed it.. Also they have a uk based service shop, or office what have you.. so im happy to buy from them.. it come with the grip and an extra battery.. i'll keep you posted when it comes.. and tell you how pretty it is.. :thumbs:

Wrong, as in wont work! It seems they have that covered so it looks good!

PS: will 400D batteries fit in a 40D?
 
They are a long standing trader on ebay, with lots of sales.. no supprise at these prices.. i almost bought a 5D from then a while back but changed my mind at the last moment due to finances..

Im not sure about the batteries.. iv got 2 comming so not bothered!! :thumbs::thumbs:
 
Digitalrev are a decent established trader, they give you a 12 month warranty. The 40D looks like a great bit of kit :)

i have just bought a 40d , and i also have a 350d ,
i do not think your batteries will fit the 40d.
you will have to start from go and buy all the bits for the 40D .:)

Thx Rick, cant wait.. iv got no camera atm so im having withdrawall!

I had to do some passport photos for a mate yesterday, and i had to use HIS camera!! lol.. luckily it was a 350D.. so not too bad..
 
With the help of Chillimonster I too now have a 40D. When he said it was immaculate he wasn't kidding. Over the moon with it. Can't wait to get out there tomorrow.
 
I've bought from them recently, Sigma EM 140 ring flash £202, inc tax and P+P. Arrived in 3 working days. Looking to get a 40D too. Kerso doesn't appear to have any at the mo. I've a few weeks to wait til I get cash but it'll be a toss up between DigitalRev and Ian.

All my kit is always in the same condition, so if ever i sell anything you can be assured of the quality.

Looks like the battery for the 40D is the same for these:

EOS 40D, 30D, 5D, 10D, 20D, 300D

But not the 400D.. :shrug:

Brash, Did you have to pay import tax?? how much?? i just looked on their site at that item and it does say ud have to pay the tax.. funny that on some items they promise NO tax!! oh well.. fingers crossed..

Yeah but in all fairness there are a lot of 'badge-snobs' on POTN

I signed up on there a last year, and posted a couple of threads. The attitude in the replies was unbelievable, so i never returned. :thumbsdown:

They need to remember that not everyone can afford the top of the range stuff, and that sometimes the cheaper stuff will do what is requires with no bells or whistles.
 
snobbery yes that is very true , but how many people have thought that looks good its meant to do the same job only to fined out it looks mickey mouse, if others have bought and recommened great go for it but when all the feed back is negative buy at your own risk ;)

Im sure I saw something similar at FOCUS last year and went hunting for them when I got home (should have got one at the time but hummed and harred as usual) couldn't find them for love nor money.

Since then I have upgraded my 350d so don't need one now, but I would have bought one given the chance :'(
 
Enjoy your 40D - had to exchange my first one - without hassle from Canon and Norfolk Cameras and now enjoying mine. Petty about the bloke behind the viewfinder!

But Digital Revew say they will pay me back within 24 hrs so ... YAY!!! lol, they going to try and deliver again tomorrow.. i'll keep ya posted.. :thumbs:

And iv seen some of that snobby stuff on POTN too!! tthey dont seem to like anyone outside of the US either!!

They say that less that 10% of Americans have a passport...

Im all tooled up now m8.. 5D and 40D.. gonna use the 5D for serious Landscape stuff Portrait and Studio work (When i get started on it) and 40D for just about everything else!!
 
I'd love to hear about the live view feature on it! How 'true' is it to the final picture?
 
May I ask how the £42.00 was to be paid?

Was it cash only or would they take a credit card?
 
I payed cash.. i never asked if i could pay with a card sorry...

It seems all i have to do is email a copy of the invoice and they refund me.. i'l do that in a while..

Wow.. the 40D is GGGrreeat!! i like it allready!! lol.. it feels really nice, much like the 5D but its FAST!! lol.. the 5D feels like a sloath compared to it!! hehe.. I dont know about IQ yet as iv not had much of a play with it other than finding my way around it.. its well worth the money.. :thumbs:
 
I emailed the tax recipt yesterday and got an email from digital review this morning saying they have refunded the money to my paypal account... so far i cant fault em!! the camera came a day early too!! lol...
 
Sounds like everything went smoothly with your purchase,
