Boston Explosions

This, I feel will mark a new milestone in the lengths people or groups are prepared to go to highlight their cause and the ensuing hours of video and column inches the media give over to reporting this incident do little to help.

It is a heinous and unforgivable act to target innocent civilians who are going about their everyday lives, alas ten days ago eleven children died in an attack that, as usual, failed to even make mainstream media in the U.S.

My condolences go out to all these innocent lives that were lost and will be lost in the future.

You'll be lucky for anything to make the news in the US this week. Nothing at all has happened outside of Boston if the media is to be believed*



*The only exception being a 'Breaking News' story yesterday when they threw to live pictures outside LAX of palm trees moving because of 20mph winds. I kid you not! :cuckoo:

"The purpose of terrorism is to terrorise" Vladamir Lenin - heinous as this bombing was its nothing new , look at the tube bombings, or for that matter the regular market place bombings that take place in afghanistan iraq pakistan etc

to be honest there are no depths to which people like this won't sink

I guess to make everyone blame each other and to build hostility and "terror". Agree it doesn't make sense, but someone who thinks blowing up other humans is a good idea isn't ever going to make sense :( (no one claimed responsibility for 9/11 for months)

Thats a possible reason, but it would imply that they are clever enough to think of it.

the other possibility is that they've realised that the murricans will hunt them down and kill them, however long it takes, and have realised that their tiny cojones only extend to blowing up kids, not to owning up to it and taking the consequences
 
is no one else surprised there isnt security camera footage of the bombers putting them in the bins????

Indeed, probably more plausible.
 
It was reported almost Immediately after that they were looking for someone seen carrying two large bags, and also someone trying to enter the restricted zone before the race.

There must have been thousands of people milling around before the race, its going to take weeks for them to review all footage and then try track down any potential suspects.
They will probably also not want it known if they do have a serious lead to stop the person(s) going Into hiding, if they haven't already.
 
Has any one noticed that pictures of soldiers with injurys similar or worse or even less dont get shown but civilians get shredded legs and they get shown on tv
Its not very fair not to show what soldiers go through

Also some sick people posted a picture of a young girl who was supposedly running for the kids school massacre and saying she was dead

Unfortunately, this sort of tragedy brings out the worst in some people. I have looked at a couple of US forums where the nutjobs think that this never really happened, and the victims were actors. Others think that the US government did this in order to attack Iran.
At the end of the day, it may well turn out to be just the sort of nutjob who posts the most offensive and ridiculous tweets.

Or something more close to home, like turning the public against the proposed changes to gun laws. Truth is nobody is going to know what really happened for quite some time.

Quite a few interesting stories coming out of this regarding photography as well. Several versions of the picture mentioned (but not shown) in this article have been published (a word of warning, the original unaltered image is really not for the squeamish), and another was actually manipulated to remove the injury (easy to find on the web if you want to see it).

Either run it unedited or don't, I find this odd middle ground very worrying (perhaps because it was too close to home for the publications that ran them?)

That photo originally really freaked me out. I'm not normally squeamish! Apparently the guys father saw the photo but only the cropped version. The BBC also showed him being wheeled past although it was difficult to see the full extent of his injuries.
 
There have been explosions and a firefight between police and the two suspects in the Boston bombing. This is happening now, and the live updated news can be found on various sites - Reuters, Guardian etc.

According to what I am watching "one individual is still on the loose".
 
I hope they get the second one alive and make him suffer
 
Past hours have been crazy, car chases, shooting, bombs going off and from American students being named now to supposed Chechens.
 
And one police officer dead, another seriously injured. More innocent victims of madness.
 
It's like the plot of an unbelievable movie, except in this case, it's real people being killed and injuried. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and we'll see no further madness, but I've a feeling that there is more madness to come :(
 
There's three rucksacks and an abandoned car the bomb squad are still dealing with, 400,000 people ordered to stay in their homes, and SWAT teams going house to house in the Watertown area of Boston. The remaining suspect may have more explosives. :shake:
 
The news reports aren't making any sense, 2 men steal a car, 1 man is stripped and taken into custody, 1 man killed, 1 man escapes.... Does anybody have a clue what's going on? The speculations and poor reporting are almost as bad as the event itself.
 
the naked person (not stripped by police) has since been released - wrong place wrong time with everyone being so suspicious
 
I'm incredibly impressed and astonished that two suspects were identified so quickly from CCTV footage.

The FBI don't mess about, that's for sure.

I hope they track the remaining suspect down soon and the end is as uncomplicated as possible.
 
I think they fact they targeted a huge event with hundreds of people with cameras around probably helped the FBI considerably.

The nutcase sites were picking out suspects within hours of the event.

Sure, but imagine the sheer amount of footage they've had to analyse in a relatively short period since the attack. That's impressive stuff.

That could be the Elvis impersonator in Mississippi.
He was arrested for sending a ricin contaminated letter to the President.
Nothing to do with the bombings.

All I have to say about that is… how convenient?

The FBI released photos of Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokar Tsarnaev aka Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 as seen at the Boston Marathon finish line. The two brothers, we are being told, were behind the Boston Marathon Bombings on April 15, 2013. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was conveniently killed during a shootout in Watertown, Massachusetts and soon enough, I’m pretty sure we’ll hear the news of Dzhokar Tsarnaev having been somehow silenced too, every American will accept that the Boston Bombers are dead and will once again, feel safe knowing the police have taken care of the bad guys.

I can’t help but ponder, though…

You know the official press photo of a mangled pressure cooker the media tells us was the explosive device that killed and maimed the people in Boston? We are told that the pressure cooker was packed with nails and ball bearings yet… there are no holes in the pressure cooker. Surely the explosion, propelling all those ball bearings and nails flying through the cooker and out in every direction would have created holes, no? But there are no such holes nor shrapnel adhered to the walls of the cooker in the official press photo.

Why are Boston police stonewalling the reports that a drill was taking place, which was overheard by many people, such as a college track coach Alastair Stevenson? Why is there no follow up on the tweet by the Boston Globe that the bomb squad was about to detonate a device in a controlled explosion near the JFK Library a mile away from the Marathon? Why are they now saying that there was no bomb at the library, that it was just a small fire?

Why did Abdul Rhaman Ali Alharbi – a Saudi national first declared a suspect, then downgraded to a “person of interest” have his travel visa revoked and was deported back to Saudi Arabia on the heels of an unscheduled meeting between Obama and the Saudi foreign minister at the White House?

Why is the FBI attempting to blacklist photos which show contractors of a private military organization called Craft wearing heavy backpacks and appearing to take part in the drill at the Boston Marathon? At least one of them was carrying a radiation detector. What for? Also – these pros don’t work for free. Who hired them? Why were they there? And why major media aren’t discussing any of it?

One of the alleged Boston bombing suspects is dead and the other one is on the loose and said to be “armed and dangerous”. FBI warned residents of Watertown with a message that:

"There is a terrorist on the loose who wants to kill people – do not open your door!"

The suspects are Chechens, which itself raises further questions – why would Chechens want to carry out acts of terrorism against America, their primary sponsor and benefactor in war against Russia? Chechens got nothing but **** loads of money and weapons from the USA and even now their mercenaries fighting alongside the FSA are receiving the same. Like they do now with Syria, mainstream media told us Chechens were freedom fighters looking for peace from oppressive Russian regime. Why would they go through lengths fighting the hand that feeds them?
