Yes
Hi all

I know it is a long shot, but I will try anyway.

I need, and I want ND grad filters. This is fact. I love taking landscape shoots but the result it is never as I want it. Overexposed sky or underexposed below horizon line. I was really happy when I discovered ND grad preset in LR2… until I wanted to rise the exposure to a very dark part of the picture. Yes it got brighter, but it also got very grainy. For that reason I decided I do need the real thing.
Sadly, there is no spare money and probably wont be for some time. On the other hand, on the beginning of April I am going for a long weekend 6-9.IV up north (Scotland) which hopefully will be a great opportunity to get some nice landscape photos. And this is where my drama starts. I just don’t want to waste beautiful 4 days knowing that the results will not be great. Also, apart from the better pictures I would find out whether ND grad are really what I need.

Now the difficult part. Is there anyone, who lives in/around Glasgow, who is brave enough, who has got enough believe in people to lend ND grad filters for four days? Yeah, I know… long shot. We can meet up before, maybe even go for some shooting in Glasgow.

I would be grateful, very 
Thanks a lot.

Pietrach, would have helped with some Lee, but sadly I'm away in Canada then. Any other time give me a shout. Sorry.

Well, have a good time out there. You can be sure I will get in touch with you if still dont have my own filters when you return.

Thanks a lot

What about bracketing your shots and blending in photoshop, by doing this you avoid wrecking the shot by over processing...and before people start on about HDR, this can be done with out photomatix and the effects that come with it....

Ive done this above with THIS

EDIT: Im temped to give you a shot of mine but know that things can get complicated if something beyond your control happens. (for example your gear gets stolen, or you take a tumble and snap one.)Unfortunately through some bad experiences im not as trusting as I perhaps should be.....

Matt,

I relise this all can be done in PP, but my goal is to achieve good results straight of the camera. I am currently 100miles away from my target, but getting there.

I fully understand you regarding not trusting people. Like I said we could meet up before once or few time, maybe do some shooting together. Of course if anything happen I would cover all costs, if it is P-series, otherwise I couldnt afford hence wouldnt borrow to start with :) If you would feel more comfortable with written statement about me taking all responsibility for them - no problem.
But I am not pushing, your choice guys.

Thanks anyway.

PS - when the new footbridge over Clyde is open, we could gather few guys from glasgow one evening and do some shooting.

Yeah, i know what you mean, hence the reason I bout them.....Its a Lee ND and ND grad I have, not sure if its the P-series, I cant remember exactly how much I paid for them, somewhere in the region of £120 (maybe more) second hand.

It would be good to get a glasgow meet on the go....maybe post a new thread and see what responce it gets, if so your welcome to try them out at that point!

Whow, I pass :) I would be to affraid to borrow equivalent of £120 from anyone :)
I will post a thread as you said. We well see what the feedback is going to be.

Thanks anyway.
