Nikon D50 --> Canon 40D --> Canon 50D (for about 3 days) --> Canon 7D --> ?????

I have no real loyalty. I just go for whatever is generally considered the best hardware within my price bracket at the time of purchasing. The 50D was my only real mistake - it just wasn't worth the upgrade cost from a 40D so it went back after a bit of testing.

Quite short really,
Sony A200
Canon 50D

Wanted to upgrade the A200, couldn't find an A700 to try or to purchase, didn't like the feel of the new Sony bodies, they all felt too small. Felt up some Nikon, Olympus, Pentax & Canon. Of the ones that were in my price bracket the Canon 50D was the most comfortable.

Was Canon now Nikon just sold kit and cant make up my mind which way to jump now!

My first SLR was an AE1, my first digital camera bought was a 300D.

Have shot lots of different stuff, 35mm rangefinders, MF TLRs & SLRs, etc., but have always stuck to Canon SLRs

Sure Nikons are fine, but I understand Canon.

Coronet 2 1/4" square
Kodak (can't remember model) 2 1/4" square
Halina 35x 35mm
Olympus OM1n
Traveller 4MP Digital Camera
Canon 350D
Canon 7D

I can't get my hand round a D3 grip and allied to horrible ergonomics I have some nice Canon primes and zooms that it would cost me a lot more to get the Nikon equivalents.

Add to that all the flash gear.

Oh and the fact that most people can't tell what the damn pic was shot on means I'll be staying put :)

Hahah would you like fries to go with your hat?

Me, after 3 Canons been on my D300 for a year and a half. The reason? Because Canon couldn't make a non-pro camera with a proper AF system suitable for motorsport. I couldn't afford the lovely 1D and they hadn't invented the Canon D300 eeerrm I mean 7D back then. (even now the 7D isnt as good, but probably not so bad it warrants an expensive change)

Now I am here in Nikon-world I am thinking D4... assuming I don't succumb to a D3/D3S before then :D
