As it says: the Girls have had the rug pulled out from under them on the Breast-Cancer Charity Calendar.

If we are to go ahead, it has to show female soldiers in full uniform actually doing the job they're being paid to do while on Operations... in effect, the same photos I take for Local Newspaper Home Town Stories...

At least half have already told me they're no longer interested as it's not going to be what they wanted i.e. a very slightly racy, tongue-in-cheek photo that they could show freinds and family.

So...all stop...

Can you not just offer to take the photos anyways......

That's a bummber, send that officer to South Saudi Arabia, we have a small war going on here :p ....

As for the photo-shoot, can you not have them in full working costumes and add a flare / twist to it to make it "fit" as per regulations while still add some drama which all would love? ...

.. thinking along the lines of the veiled model you shot not long ago! She's still fresh / hot in my mind

body paint the uniforms on, that'd work :D

What bout combat his, S10 and stable belt...and nothing else...that'll appeal to a niche market :naughty:

Well...after chatting with the girls - we either do it the way we want it done or not at all...

So it's not at all...

It would have to be fully-clothed in uniform and normal workplace environmental portraiture - with no added 'twist', so nothing that anyone's going to fork out to pay to see, in other words...

Dude I'm not entirely surprised. Do you remember the uproar when that army PTI posed for page3 in her DPM trousers. The powers at be won't want people realising that there is any form or morale out there, if the troops are seen to be enjoying themselves and having a laugh they'll lose ammunition to batter the politicians with.

Alternatively it might have been poo poo'd by someone with green eyes and built like challenger tank.

In the kindest way possible, a couple of the girls fall into that last category...

Regardless, this was an 'implied-topless' - no nipples, maybe a bit of side-boob...mostly bare-sholders and some midriff - nothing more than would be visible in the gym, but with desert-dpm in abundance either in the background or on the subjects...

But no...
...can't have people thinking that the rear-echelon troops might be trying to cheer themselves up and doing a good turn and raising money for a Charitable Organisation while 'Our Boys' are dying on the Front-Line - despite the fact that 'Our Boys on the Front-Line' have been overwhelming in their support for the project...
Something a few of the girls were worried about - what level of salacious banter they'd be subjected to when word of the project leaked...apart from the initial rib-poking, almost all the feedback from grass-roots level was supportive...

...understandably - most would pay well over the odds for an old-fashioned pin-up of the clerk/medic/officer they'd secretly (or not so secretly) fancied for ages...

Yeah I wasn't poking fun at them in the slightest more that I suspect it would be someone well past their best being the nay sayer.

Do you think if you gave them an example of the tasteful way the girls would be portrayed it might swing things your way? May be they have the wrong end of the stick.

:bang: aarrggghhhhh, how bloody irritating is that! Maybe you should have said you would be supporting H4H instead, the guilt trip might be enough...

Oh, and that's nothing against Breast Cancer Charities, very worthy indeed, but you do have to wonder how 'official' minds work sometimes. :bat:

You seriously underestimate your talents, and what people are willing & happy to pay for.

I don't want to sound like a Marketing guru on issues with Calendar; but I'd personally be more than happy with a Calendar (or a few) that has support for a good charitable cause.

Sometimes a compromise / middle-ground is a good solution .. though I'd love to see them in more raunchy poses

I sugested that, but the three officers involved (as subjects) no-no'd it immediately even though some of the Junior ranks were more than up for it...

It was more a question of not having the style and content dictated to us by people not even in Afghanistan...

It's not like we were doing a Razzle Feature - this would have been about as 'sedate' as the famous WI calendar...maybe even less revealing...

another classic and sad example of how idiots obsessed with red tape dont have an understanding of human beings.

I suspect there may be an element of " We never thought of the idea in the first place so you are not doing it".

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Why does this not surprise me, our girlies tried something similar on OT7, they did it, it went around like wildfire (just on normal paper) and was quashed within days with threats of disciplinary action if seen.

On the other hand, we cant be doing with that sort of thing- might get some more girls sent home :baby::D

MHO - it's out of order - all they want to do is the same kinda thing as that video that hit the news a few years ago, doing a Peter Kay

Yep- and crashing the MOD server iirc:clap:

Well it was fairly inevitable - right on the heels of the story in The Sun about pregnant servicewomen having to be sent home from Afghanistan - the story implies that all the women are getting pregnant here - whereas the reality (as anyone who's been on Tour will know) is that most of those pregnancies being discovered here result from the last 'fling' before going away at the start of the Tour or from the 10 nights of non-stop 'action' during mid-Tour Leave with their partners...

hmmm, you wouldnt say that if you saw army maternity wear!

I don't think they're full time Army members though. If I remember rightly from a TV programme they're ex PTI's who have set up as a company of personal trainers doing military still training.

Remember, nothing is ever as it seems in The SUN.

ahhh right sorry i just saw it at work didn't have time to read it memo to self read stuff before posting

To be fair the article is a bit mis-leading.

Sorry to buck the trend here but what's wrong with a calendar of 12 lovelies adorned in rubbery Gore-tex fatigues and lace up leather boots

Canon Bob, Im guessing the army doesn't want to give the impression anyone out there is enjoying it, or having any amount of fun. Otherwise it becomes harder for them to put pressure on the government to get more equipment out there/pull out etc.

Just why I think it was cancelled, I may be way wrong though. Its a shame though, as it was for a good cause.
