Aaaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I'm so bored. I've just started two weeks annual leave from work and feel ready to slit my wrists already

The weather is pants - it's just not stopped raining all day, so haven't been able to get all the outside jobs done which I had planned.

Just had a bloke round to give us a quote for 'kitchen improvements' (basically we want to tart up an old, tired kitchen ready for the house to go on the market). Not good news as it looks like it's gonna cost thousands rather than the hundreds we had anticipated :( (and we don't have thousands)

Looks like we may not be able to afford to go on our holiday to California now (due to kitchen improvements (!) and the upcoming immigration to Canada). We have the slight problem that we have already booked the (non-refundable) flights. Just emailed Virgin to see what I can do as can't afford to lose £1K that the tickets cost

Hope you are all having a better start to your weekend!!

Dont you know anybody you can sell the tickets to? Some places let you do that!

I know what i'd do though, forget the kitchen for now, lol.

Can't you go dinkle spotting, that can be done indoors - can't it?

Boyfriend not around then? ;)

Yes, he's watching some crap on TV. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge tv fan, and unlike him, can't just sit and watch anything. To top it all, Dr Who is on later, so he'll be glued to the tv even more!

Had enough of dinkle spotting this weekend ;)

Is that possible, maybe you need to remmeber its quality not quantity - or is that the other way round!

Just a thought when my kitchen was a little old and tired when I first moved into my flat, I replaced the doors and got it re-tiled. Obviously its not as good as a brand new kitrhcen but it gave it a whole new lease of life.

Yes, I've emailed Virgin to see if I can sell the tickets on. If I can, I'll advertise them (at a loss).

Unfortunately, the kitchen is in dire need of re-doing. When we first moved in, we had to use a wall paper scraper to get the thick layer of grease off the work tops and units :gag: (I think the last people who lived here fried everything). They really are gross. Plus, I think Bob the Builder fitted the kitchen we have now.

Do some knitting. :)

just had a BBQ. Its a lovely weekend.

Forget the kitchen. Most improvements prior to sale are a waste of money. The purchaser is going to rip out what you have anyway.

That's what we had in mind, but when we've taken the tiles off, it's uncovered some dodgy workmanship that needs rectifying. The plumbing is like spaghetti junction and we need new flooring instead the cracked, chipped nasty coloured tiles that are down. We also need new worktops as the ones we have are still tacky in places (despite over a years worth of scrubbing and cleaning) from the dire build up of grease from the previous owners.

Get yourself some cheap wickes units and worktop, its suprising how good they can look if you do it right.
I used them here because its all being ripped out when (and if) we get our planning permission, People who see it think it cost thousands, but it cost under £500 with the cooker, hood and sink.

Format and repartition your HDD?

Didn't you want to do a nude photo this year? I am not busy this evening and have my camera so if you want someone to take your pic being the gent I am I, I will help you out ;)

 Now if I could shed a stone and tone up right this instant, I'd be there in a flash. I feel like one of the Roly Poly's at the minute

You could always charge them £££....:exit: :D
Seriously Cheryl, the kitchen didn't look bad when we were there and I agree with what 2blue4u said above - if you spend a lot, will you really get that money back in an increased sale price?
Get yourself on holiday lass :)

min, as the blue one said. Don't spend a fortune on it, you'll be surprised how little the return is on most things like that.

Give it a good clean and make it look nice, when people come to view a house they are generally only looking at the size and shape of the rooms and for the other features like the view and parking etc rather than your choice of decor.

For a naff kitchen they'll prefer to just knock a little off the price.

If you're that bored, you can get on msn and answer all my canadian immigration questions? :p

You looked fine last time I saw you.

Tell him to turn the tv off and take you out for a night!
