The TP 52 - 2025 Boot's 52 for 2025

Nice, I wish that we had similar things where I am.

Thanks Bill!

Wikipedia tells me that you do have canals in BC. Pender Canal from Bedwell Harbour to Port Browning (a whole 200 metres!!) and the abandoned Baillie-Grohman closed in 1902.

LOL, the one is a wee bit far from me (near the Rockies) and the other is on Pender Island just a hop, skip and a ferry ride away...

Sadly neither have canal barges that would let me meander down the canal, trailing my fingers in the water and reveling in the view as I slowly floated by...

Nice canal boat shot, looks very relaxing but bit of a marmite thing as a bit sloooow for some :)

Often the reality is more being rattled about as if you were sitting on top of a washing machine whilst sucking diesel fumes.

However I once saw an electric canal boat which looked (and sounded) much more pleasant.

Thanks Keith!

Yes, I found it all a bit dull when I have done it. Walking along the canal however is much more my thing.

Good take on transport, though I would say that having used the canal too.

Week 27 - Deserted & Tech - Panorama

Not a living soul in sight!

Another spooky job! Nice! :runaway:

Very appropriate for the theme! And definitely deserted with that long grass

I do like a good graveyard, excellent image for the theme.

Great shot, works well in black and white, almost sad that it is so deserted. No relatives to remember them?

Beautiful shot Paul, love the mood.

Thanks both!

This is the old graveyard, so the graves all pre-date WWII (or thereabouts). There is a more recent graveyard beyond the wall just visible to the right. There are generally always a few people tending graves there, and indeed as I was taking photos there were about four people working in that area. I had to keep a low viewpoint to stop heads appearing!

Week 28 - Portrait

This all went rather pear shaped. I was out of my comfort zone and had no ideas. Then we had a family holiday and had a visit to Britannia Royal Naval College - great! They allowed photography - better still! But it turned out they were less flexible in reality - don't photograph people; don't hold up the group; don't get in the way.

Anyhow, there was a lovely portrait of the late Queen, and I got a photo. But when I got home it transpired I had the ISO set too low and the image was rather blurry. So, apologies.

But... PABD

If anyone is wondering why it is a portrait of the late Queen and not King Charles III, we were told the replacement is on order.

Week 29 - Vibrant

I wouldn't normally go near colour pop, but if you want Vibrant, it seems somewhat appropriate.

Yep - ticks ye olde box :)

Vibrant - Indeed, job done
Portrait, PABD is the right answer! I like the composition.

Pity about the out of focus portrait but a nice use of selective colour for vibrant

Three good shots Paul (even if the queen is a little blurry). I like your MG image the best, great POV and processing.

so much better breaking the edges, real attention to detail.
