The TP 52 - 2025 Boot's 52 for 2025

Nice one, Paul. Simple and effective.
The first thing that came to my mind was Hammer Horror films; Dracula, The Horror of Frankenstein etc....

Thanks Stan! Hope that thought didn't leave you too upset.

Fits the bill and no mistaking what it is. Looking at the handle length you must have been holding the very edge.

Thanks Keith! Yes, I may have missed the "hand holding" aspect; it was in the vice, and the camera was on the wonk.

Well executed shot of an original idea Paul

Week 7 - Through a Window

Through the Window.JPG

Not much through this window, whichever direction you look.

Looks pretty bleak indeed.

Nice subject - would be terrific with a bright blue sky, but it fits the theme

It’s a lovely window, as mentioned the sky lets it down a little but there is very little you can do about that a the minute

Nice silhouette of a hammer. If I had one, I would probably do the same!!
The window is a good option but true the sky hasn't helped. Maybe another day with perhaps more cloud definition and in mono....

Too true; thanks for commenting Bob!

It’s got me wondering about the history of the building, the brickwork seems charred under the window. I can imagine there will be rich colours in the brickwork with a bit more help from the light.

Thanks for commenting Alan. The building is Houghton House. I think it has had a very checkered history, and has probably been burnt several times over the years.

Not much you can do about the weather, but if there ever was a shot looking for a different sky, this is one of them.
Either a bright winter blue, or something ominous would really bring this out.

Thanks Tim! You are quite right.

More window than house! Super picture.

Yes! Are you intentionally paraphrasing the expression about Hardwick Hall? "Hardwick Hall, more glass than wall." They are both fairly contemporaneous (Hardwick was a little earlier).

A lovely old window Paul. I might have cropped in a bit more to use some of the white sky.

Interesting ruins/ building, think a crop to lose some of the white on the rhs might make it a stronger image as the white there draws the eye a bit. Cool window though, well shot.

Thanks Ryan! I was trying to show, with the sliver of sky to the right, that there was no building there - but clearly, the sky was naff.

Very sinister and striking hammer shot - brilliant!!

The ruined window photo is brilliant too and you could probably get a whole series of very interesting images from different crops of it. Very strong image either way! :-)

Lovely window, must have been an impressive room / building back in the day, brickwork is interesting as well

Thanks Ross and Keith!

Great pic for the week, I bet that was a very impressive place once upon a time
