booster jab pain in the butt

Mrs Nod had her booster booked for next week but since we were driving past a centre with a drop-in facility last Friday, we decided to drop in and see what the queue was like. Since there was no apparent queue, in she went and by the time I'd had a cup of coffee (decent latté from a trailer), she was out after her 15 minute wait. Queues there over the past couple of days have been up to 7 hours, with 2 being seen as quite quick.

had mine saturday at the local eye pharmacy easy peasy.
just in time for xmas

Mine is booked in for Thursday morning, at the Haynes Motor Museum of all places...

Are these massive queues at the walk in places rather than pre-booked?
Think that well may be the case - I went for mine today at the local pharmacy which wasn’t on the list of “official” walk in centres but they weren’t turning anyone away that did turn up without an appointment. Was in there for around 20 minutes which included the 15 minute wait - during that time I filled out the consent form for my flu jab and had that at the same time. Well impressed!!

We had ours a couple of weeks ago, just drove down to the airport and had a 5 minute wait, no appointment.

As reported above, I had the pneumonia jab a few years ago. I had it at the same time as the flu jab.
No side effects.

Re: Pneumonia jab, likewise we both had it (AFAIK it is a vaccine against a pneumococcal bacterial infection.....stand to be corrected on the exact causative infection ~ virus or bacteria?) approx 5 years back.

As the OH had pneumonia some years back we both know the importance of that, she was hospitalised for approx a week with it and was a bit of a scare.

Oh, and as I recall the jab for that is a one off(no mention yet of it needing a booster). So perhaps a little like the one off HP (Human Papilloma) vaccine being offered to teenagers [both genders!] to combat cervical cancer. NB such protection is not just the responsibility of the female as men can carry it!

I had my booster on Thursday morning, my arm is still sore, like it's been repeatedly punched, and yesterday I just couldn't get warm, I was cuddling a hot water bottle most of the day yesterday. I was in bed at 9pm....

Feel much better today though.

Had mine yesterday, felt Fine until about 8pm.
Now feel like death. Arm is killing me to the point of being unable to lift it.
The first two didn’t make me feel this bad.

We were both lucky with our boosters - no substantial after effects. Yes, we both had sore arms but nothing debilitating. A couple of my golf buddies did have a day of feeling like cack and lead arms but it was just a day or so.
