Hi - I've just purchased a 70cm beauty dish to use with my Elinchrom Style 400 BX. Could anybody recommend a suitable bookstand setup to use with it please?

Thanks for your help - Graeme.

Ive got this one from Lencarta. Quite large and heavy, but you need the weight and it does the job.

Thank you Darren - I'll look into that one.

I take it really meant a Boom stand ;)

I use a Manfrotto 420B stand, as long as it's used at full extension it's fine with a bowens 500 head and a box/dish. At full extension a speedlite with the modifier is a better choice. In reality though I've only ever needed to have it at it's maximum extension once so it's not really an issue :D

It also makes a great "normal" stand too with a higher reach than my other stands, which I found to be a great for getting a light up to a stairway landing while I shot across so I could keep the light out of frame :)

Thanks Brian - yes, 'boomstand' rather than 'bookstand' - damn the autocorrection! I'll look into the Mf 420B as well - appreciate the help, thank you.

I've also got the lencarta studio boom and its absolutely solid. It supports an elite pro 300 head with a 140x70cm soft box easily.

Thanks James - I'm torn between the two now.

We got the lencarta one for the studio, its a BIG piece of kit.

The only thing I don't like about it is the screw latch which stops the boom from pivoting is a little puny for the amount of weight it can carry. Saying that though, it does support the 300w and umbrella at about 2-3 meters reach.

Thank you for all the advice guys - I went Lencarta in the end and I'm really pleased with the result - thanks.
