Books?

I was given as a gift a £30 Amazon gift certificate, and I'd like to use it to purchase a book on photography.

Does anyone have any thoughts on a good book of photography? I'm fairly new to photography so one on basics would probably be best.

I take your shooting digitally, so id recommend a "Martin Evening" book for your image package of choice.

He starts with the applications basics and guides you thru each function giving settings and examples of use.
