So I did search for this, so please don't string my up for not looking first
I'm not new to forums, but relatively new to photography. Got a Nikon D50 from a friend a couple of weeks ago and have taken loads of pics just playing around and working bits out for myself. Now I feel a bit more comfortable with the controls I want to start learning properly. I did ask on another, non photographic related, forum and the results were online based literature, which is fine, but I often like to go out take pics and would like something for reference and to learn as I go! My computer isn't in a well lit room where I could try many things tbh and I prefer books to online tutorials anyway.
So what books could you recommend to not only teach a newbie, but extend beyond that. Or is there a group of books I need to spend more money on?!
I so far have the D50, the 18-55 kit lens, a nikon 55-200 lens and various filters, flashes and tripods, some of which I've been handed down by a family member. I am interested in taking pictures of everything, rather than one specific subject
