Anyone recommend a book that'll assist nme with learning how to use photoshop ? And also possibly a general photographic manual ? Are the Photoshop for Dummies books any good or only very basic ? :shake:

Well I think it depends

I find the dummies books good for myself because I suffer with a form of dyslexia which stops me from understanding reading material - so i actually need the really basic guide, and explanations with everything

I also have the CS3 book here

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Photo...=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255192230&sr=8-7

but find it really challenging for reasons above, and it is very intense.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Two of the best tutors for Photoshop are Martin Evening as recommended by sqiuzza, or Scott Kelby. Either are very good. My preference is for Martin, but Scott is also very good, and is one of the most prolific Photo Book authors I know . Any book by either author will stand you in good stead
