I have a few amazon vouchers and thinking about maybe getting a few photography books, and wondered if anyone has any recommendations.

Not looking for 'how-to' type books as such, more books of photographs.

Not limited to any real genre, but I do lean towards black and white stuff.

If it helps, the books I already own are:

Magnum Magnum
The Nick Brandt trilogy
Where Children Sleep
Several books on interior design/architecture but these are my wife's, although I still enjoy these..

Looking forward to hearing some suggestions - thanks ..

For black and white:

Sea Coal - Chris Killip

Anything by André Kertész or Elliott Erwitt.

+1 on anything by Elliot Erwitt. His stuff just always makes me smile.

One of my favourite modern portrait photographers is Andy Gotts. His book "degrees" is a great read and has some lovely B&W portraits.

Thanks all. much appreciated.

Some good stuff there.

Even though portraiture isn't usually my thing, some of these look great so a good chance to open my eyes to something new..

Magnum's Contact Sheets is a pretty interesting book.
Michael Kenna has a new book out, Forms of Japan, that is full of B&W minimalist landscape type photographs.
Something by Ansel Adams for B&W landscapes
For an overview of one of our photojournalist heavyweights - Don McCullin: The New Definitive Edition (which is an updated version that is released in a few weeks).
Vietnam Inc - Philip Jones Griffiths. First published in '71 and I gather was quite significant at the time.

I really like the work of Fay Godwin who is sadly no longer with us. Her books are now becoming harder to get hold of. +2 for Elliot Erwitt and a heads up for Henri Cartier Bresson.
