Book recomendations please

Can anyone recommend good books for general photography and also a tutorial type book for photoshop ?

Just read Digital SLR Masterclass by Andy Rouse,
Good overall review with some good tips. And its written at a good level for a reader at any level.

I got this for book for Christmas and can heartily recommend it, in fact I was just about to post a thread saying how good it is whether you are a beginner or more advanced photographer.

Five stars from me!

As a novice, I've found the best book for general photography (not editing) is the DK 'Keep It Simple Series' Guide to Photography by John Garrett. I picked mine up for a couple of quid in Sussex Stationers and it outranks the £20 glossies.
