Book Guide for LR3

I will be purchasing LR3 imminently and would like a good book to gradually learn all the more in depth stuff. I don't like video tutorials so I'm wondering if there is a book that stands out and explains clearly how to do everything. I can use it well enough but I don't think I've got my workflow streamlined as much as it can be and would like something I can just reference without needing to go to google.
 
I bought Lightroom3 by Scott Kelby - here's a link to Amazon

I find it very readable and a good guide.
Look up Scott Kelby's website - see if you like his style

The tutorials on the Adobe site are worth a look too

As an alternative to Scotts books, try Martin Evening. Both are good authors and i's a mater of style.. My preference is for Martin

I, too, prefer Martin as Scott's sense of humour (if that's what you can call it) tends to grate.

As a reference Victoria Bampton's 'Missing FAQ' is well worth getting.
 
Vision & Voice - Refining Your Vision in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom by David DuChemin is a fantastic book.
The great thing about this book is that it not only guides you through the settings etc as most other books do, but he also has a collection of his images and he talks you through how and why he edited each image as he did.
I have 5 other lightroom books but this one is by far the best.
 
I have both Martin Evening and Scott Kelby's books. Martins has more content and seems more like a traditional textbook, whilst Scott's is more conversational.
I actually like both, but if I were to choose one I think I retain more of the information form Scott's book, but that may be just my learning style.
 
I bought Victoria Bamton's (Lightroom Queen) book 'Lightroom 3 The Missing FAQS' there are some excerpts from the book on the link and if you buy the book you can also download a PDF version.

The book is very good, and if you do buy a copy please let her know that I recommended it.
