Bought myself a SB900 for Xmas. Ploughing my way through the manual but like all manuals they assume knowledge and "how to" rather than "why" and very robotic style. I will need I book to start me off I think. Does anyone have any recomendations I see there's the Nikon lighting series on Amazon which seem to be popular. Any ideas much appreciated.

Just start taking pictures - if you only have one SB-900 let the camera do the work till you get used to it.
 
Hi

I brought ' The Nikon Creative Lighting System ' from Amazon because my supplied instruction manual was in French.

I have since brought an English version of the instruction manual. Theres not much difference between the manual and the book unless you want to read about the history of Nikon.

The book also jumps from one flash gun to another which is some what confusing.

The SB900 is my first speedlight and wow what a tool.
