Hey guys and gals,

I've posted a few times now so I thought I'd introduce myself to you all :) I'm Ben, 16, and live Wiltshire. I've enjoyed taking photos for a while, and recently bought myself a bridge camera.. However after seeing the limitations with this piece of kit, I'm saving for a Nikon D3000 and I have been suggested the 70-200 f/2.8 for portraits, as thats what I'd like to delve into.

For now I think I'll sit back, take in the information and learn; and hopefully get along to one of the meets to get some more photography knowledge :thumbs:

what are the limitations for you of a bridge camera?

@VirtualAdept, really? :O It's not a bad little town, a bit boring at times though.

@mrcrow, I just feel that I cant get the crystal clear images you would get with a DSLR. I cant get the shutter speed fast enough to allow to capture my images sort of stop motion.. If you know what I mean. I cant go above 8 seconds, so the really long exposure shots for me are a no-no. It's hard for me to get up close and personal macro shots because the focus system doesnt like it when im close, or when i zoom for a little far away.. End of rant :thumbs:

CaptainPenguin, Hi! I think you mean the caen hill locks.. However I live close-ish to them, maybe a 20 minute drive.
