BOBBCN 52 in 2025!! (WKS 13 to 16 Catch Up)

Chosen shot is great - very atmospheric and effective.

Really like your chosen shot. That low cloud is great!

Very atmospheric

Bit more than box-ticked, got some atmosphere into the shot

Really like your chosen shot. Very well framed and composed.

Box ticked Bob. Actually prefer your first 2 two shots, seen enough of low cloud and grey skies here and at least there is a hint of the sun in the first 2 shots

Chosen shot is great - very atmospheric and effective.

Many thanks for the comments. I am slipping a bit with Week 8 not done yet, and Week 9 starting tomorrow. Anyways, becoming a grandpa for the first time is the excuse!! I'm sure the littl'un will be in my thread before the year's out!!

Playing catch up these days......

WEEK (08) - SIGNS/SYMBOLS

The symbol is actually the thingy on the left. Four lines and a star. It represents the Catalan Republic flag (not a legal flag actually) and was apparently based on Cuba's flag. The independence movement has lost steam over the past few years but these still appear around the region.

WEEK (09) - HORIZONTAL

Lots of horizontals in the undeground ..........

WEEK (10) - PATTERN

Also from the underground. I think it's something to help reduce noise, but I'm quite baffled ..........

I also spotted the patterns from the rain eitherside of the statue.........

A good set, really like your chosen image. The decay and ugliness of the pipes and door seems so symbolic of the decline in do many of our towns.

Thanks. I was looking at the symbol itself and I completely overlooked the actual building as being "symbolic of" decay.

Nice catch up, noise baffles - thought that macro was too wide for a watch strap  :)

A really good set. Some great compositions in there.

Good catch up all very good for the themes, your pattern shot particularly works.

Great catch-up set Bob, I like your patterns shot the best but the symbols shot looks like an area that I would go to often.

Good catch up Bob

Cheers Simon

Thanks. It's actually not really an area as this type of building is seen everywhere dotted around the city. It's something to do with a ridiculously high inheritance tax which means they are simply abandoned and then sealed by the council to stop the squatters or the "newcomers" from moving in.

Sorry Bob, I've somehow failed to comment on almost all your shots - so much atmosphere in all of them and some very effective takes on the themes. And that bear makes me very uneasy - great capture!

Cheers Ross!! No problem, commenting is difficult to keep up with, so anything is greatly appreciated.

Defo broken. Nicely shot.
It’ll buff out :)

Unless it’s a bbq I guess that’s broken.
Great action shot

Talk about being in the right place, at the right time...and with your camera! Well done.

Is that a Tesla?

Great shot, those firemen do not look overkeen. just trying to stop the tarmac from burning up. :)

Nice one Bob though not for the truck, think the firemen are quite wi=se keeping their distance

Excellent capture.
From a technical (rather than creative) perspective, I would have pushed the blacks in editing as you don't have a black point in the image.
That would have given the image more contrast, which I think would make it more impactful.
But that would just be my choice and may not be what you were looking for.

Well broken! Great opportunistic shot.

Thank you!!

What a capture!!

Cheers!!

The one who got right in there was a woman.
Good on her I say!

Excellent capture.

Thanks. I see what you mean. Perhaps it would bring out the flames, too.

WEEKS 13-16 Catch Up!!

I have noticed the dust spots, which have ruined Shadows and After the Rain. But here goes anyway.....

TEXTURE - apparently it's a bluebottle jellyfish. Heaps of 'em washed up on the beach with a nice rubbery jelly-type texture......

SHADOWS - speaks for itself I guess....

Week 14

SNAPPER'S - nice view from the balcony in Enveitg, France

AFTER THE RAIN (SLEET, SNOW, THAW???) - the foreground water was just a big puddle but I gets down low for the near symmetry

You say 'ruined', but I think there aren't any of those that could be easily removed with Lightroom and/or Photoshop. I can't remember where you sit on that particular fence, but it would be a couple of minutes work on each shot to get rid of them all.

Strong catch up - with the Jellyfish possibly being my favourite.

Good catch up Bob especially the last 2 shots, that’s a big puddle :)

Cheers Kell. I use Photoscape which has a cloning tool which usually works at least if you have a uniform situation.

Cheers!! It was. Probably not as big as it looks in the shot. To be honest I think it was due to the snow melting rather than the rain, but well .....
