OK..I'm in...

After struggling with last year's 365..I will try and keep to a 52.

So...WEEK 0 - ODD

I imagine I would look quite odd running in them, too.

Good call - I probably wouldn't even notice if I put them on first thing in the morning :)

Hi
Odd though vaguely similar, nice start

odd for sure....and please assure us that you dont leave the house like that....ha ha :) Nicely framed and like the POV you've used. May benefit from a quick contrast and saturation boost? Good luck and keep up the good work (y)

HI Bob & welcome back....enjoyed your 2012 52 & looking forward to seeing your images this year (y)

Thanks for the comments/encouragement....

Already behind and with an overwhelming feeling that I am not gonna get through this.....

Week 1 LINE - a cheat to start with, taken ages ago, even the Photography magazines which I always buy in the airport are still unread. Feeling doomed!

BTW - I can't seem to find the list (if there is one) of the weekly themes.
So far I have seen WEEK 0 (ODD), WEEK 1 (LINE) and now it looks like WEEK 2 (PLAY)...

Hi Bob.....

they are fascinating structures.....don't feel doomed , it's such a striking image I think you can be forgivebn for not taking it specifically for the challenge....maybe :p

Clone out the sticky out thing to the lhs of the frame would be my only crit.......

Oh yes....can you put a link in the pic only thread to here as I nearly missed your thread (y)

I'm liking this one. It has a bit of an abstract feel to it because of the leaning structures (are they chimneys?). I agree with Lyn about the minor cloning.

Like that. B&w works well.

I tend to prefer odd numbers, read somewhere they work better and although the bright sky contrasts well with the poles, I'd link to see a tad more contrast in the clouds.

Cheers.

Love those, but you could have cloned the thing out on the L/hand side - what and where are they?

Hi all and thanks for the comments.

The structures are some kind of art thing in the centre of Bradford - steel tubes if I am not mistaken, just sticking out of the grass... all I can say really.

On to Week 2 Play - had to be volleyball. Still struggling with the low light/indoor sport scenario - but this particular pavilion in Sabadell is one of the best. It's a messy shot but I like how the girl who is hitting the ball has been framed.

Actually it was a great game with my daughter (far right jumping and who now plays for Barça) playing against her old team, Sabadell. So it was a bit of a needle match for her, but Barça came away with a 3-0 victory!!

You live in Barcelona and travel to Bradford to take photos

:D

Both great images and on theme (y)

nice catch of the action there - liking the position of the ball nice and high, central in the shot.

I'am liking the B+W lines one dont know what they are (chimneys of some sort?) The play photo is full of action and colour good capture! Did you use flash/ was it allowed or did you use a fast lens, high ISO or a combination of the above?

A very nice action shot, you've captured the concentration on the girls face very well.

Nice sharp action photo. Colours look a little washed out on my screen - perhaps could do with a bit more pop?

Nice action shot for play :) I agree with you on the framing of the girl striking the ball, it's really effective. It's quite a hectic scene, which represents the sport well!!

Good action shot for this theme. I often like a shallow depth of field on sport shots but I think in this case it works as you can see where the players are looking.

Nice lines shot!
And very fitting "Play" photo, the action has been captured well.

The shot was 1/250 at f4.5 with a 55-250mm lens at 55mm and the ISO on auto clicked in at 640- no flash allowed!
I usually pre focus on the white part at the top of the net and shoot. Lots of duffs but occasionally something half decent.
The place was actually well lit compared to some but the combination of movement and poor light when what you really want is a sharp image is a killer.
At least on my budget..

Cheers

So many positive comments. Much appreciated. Will be getting round to other people's threads shortly.

Well captured action for 'Play'. The concentration on the spikers face is nice.
