Are you talking about taking photos of boats from the shore, or as I suspect, sailing with your camera?
If I was out and about with my camera I would definitely be looking at an underwater cover for it as well as attaching a floatation device in case if goes overboard.
I'll have to get myself over to SBSC to have a look at that, I used to sail Int Moths back when I was a lot younger, hulls were big enough to get your feet inside in those days

This weekend is the time to do it. Nationals running from Thursday through till Sunday. Wednesday afternoon from 3pm sees a foiling moth slalom event.... Not to be missed
Yeah I do a bit now and then, I find it hard to leave the camera behind. I quite like ultra wide shots of the boat and long shots of other boats or things of interest. Keep the camera in a dry bag at all times when not in use, and NEVER take the neck strap off when it's in use! Not even if it's mounted on a tripod.
Trust me, there's only one thing worse than losing your camera overboard, and that's mounting your favourite lens just before it makes a very insignificant 'plonk' into the deep sea!
The rest of the eight day journey to Sweden was mainly taken up with 'fish eye' jokes as you can imagine
