Spoiler alert!

Lol

I think we need the
tags on this one

Watched it all so far, up to episode 3 in the new series. Brilliant TV, so many characters written with such a complexity to them.

Don't read unless you've watched season 3 episode 3.

Gyp Rosetti is a good addition, and what an absolute psychopath. I thought it would feel a bit limp with Jimmy being shot and killed, but it has evolved nicely. I'm glad they kept Richard Harrow (tin face man) about to get revenge on Manny Horvitz. Justice was served for Manny killing Angela.

You know a show must be great when an actor as talented as Michael K. Williams (Albert 'Chalky' White) gets so little screen time. Eli Thompson is just plotting something too, you can just see his brain working out how he can claw his way back into a position of power. Gretchen Mol plays Gillian Darmody so well she is one of the most subtly evil, and twisted characters I've seen on screen.

Actors like Michael Shannon as Nelson Van Alden, Stephen Graham as Al Capone or Michael Stuhlbarg as Arnold Rothstein are all top quality. I could watch just their story arcs for an hour easily. I'm always particularly disappointed when it cuts away from Nelson Van Alden. From his stoic, humourless demeanour to the weird self-flagellation he's just a character you want to know more about.

Great to see Boardwalk Empire back and Dexter now back. Roll on 2013 for Game of Thrones being back.

Cracking tv.

I can imagine all the HBO bigwigs sitting round a table

So who's idea was it to end The Sopranos, we need a new Sopranos

Er how about a Sopranos set in 1922

great idea

season 4 has been given the nod:)

Well i think this season slowly plodded on until episode 10,for anyone who is still to watch episode 11 its an absolute blinder:) I would recommend waiting until you have the finale and watching them both together i wish I had

Love it. I saw the result of tonights episode coming.

What's nookie to do now?

We watched the first series and liked it a lot; but when the second series began we lost interest really fast. It just seemed to be same-old-same-old. Different horses for different courses I suppose :)

Best show that's ever been aired! ep11 again was awesome.

Love it and Steve Buscemi is excellent. It's also good to see they aren't afraid to kill big characters which keeps the tension going, you just never know who's going to die! The only annoyance for me is Chalky overacts the disgusted mouth thing he does.

Just watched the last episode for this season, what a great show.

You should try watching more than an hour. In fact i watch very little TV this is about the only thing i make a point of watching.

I watched the majority of the first series, so definitely more than an hour. After a while I just couldn't take it any longer. I was hoping it would get better as I thought it had all the recipe for a great show, but sadly it failed to do so. I'm dissapointed about it as I wasted all those hours and now i'll never get them back

What didn't you like about it?

The 12 emmy's and a golden globe would disagree.

the awards it did or didn't get are irrelevant to my opinion of it. I'm not one of these people who thinks something is good or bad based on how many awards it got. I judge it purely on my own enjoyment of it, not someone elses.

Sesame street has more emmy's than boardwalk empire does that mean it's a better show?

Well its not really aimed and the same people is it. I'm sure its a lot better than most kids tv shows that haven't won emmy's.

You must be very disappointed with every show on TV if you find the high caliber of acting found in Boardwalk wooden.

jesus Joe you'd argue with yourself if left alone for long enough.

I decided not to take the bait because this:

I thought the story was slow and dull and the script was wooden and uninteresting.

and this

Who said the acting was wooden?

Is loaded for a full blown pedantic arguement! lol

no, I thought the acting was absolutely fine. Nothing pedantic about it. I didn't have a problem with the acting. Just found the story slow and dull and the script wooden, but I thought I already said that.

I like steve buscemi, I think he is an excellent actor - but you can only do so much with what you are given, so I wouldn't blame his acting on why I didn't like the show.
