They get banned from walking through the front door of council properties, eggs thrown at them with no police protection, no right to reply on the media! 7% of people who voted voted for them! so please let them have a voice and discuss!
 
I personally have no interest in what those *******s have to say. They've made it pretty clear what their policies and motives are and that's more than enough. They don't even know the meaning of democracy. Have you read their constitution? If you're not one of 11 caucasian ethnic groups, then they won't let you in. Can you imagine what would happen if they got any significant power? It doesn't bear thinking about.

Those ****ers should be strung up and I only wish it was something other that eggs that Nick Griffin got in the face. They do not deserve a voice.

Not being funny, but do you really think the way this country is at the moment, we need more of a strain on the socio-economics side of things. We have the easiest/slackest regulations on immigration to this country, and the government we have at the moment is doing nothing to stand up for the true British people. We are beginning to be treated like 2nd class citizens in the land of our birth. The BNP may not have the best idea's, and they may not voice them well and as such are treated as racists and biggots, but they are a political party and so, should be treated with the same respect as Labour or Tory, and they should be allowed to have a voice too, that is what democracy is about after all.:thumbs:

As ye sow so shall ye reap, racists and bigots is exactly what they are.

Shouting that their democratic rights are being abused while it's their stated intention to take those same rights away from a large percentage of the population gets them no sympathy from me. I'd go so far as to say if they came round my part of the world spouting their bilge the local supermarkets would sell out of eggs.

Sounds like spin to me, actually it was a little over 6%. 6% of a very apathetic 30% who bothered to vote equates to about 2% of the population, the monster raving loonies get more than that. 2% of the population vote for them and they get 2 seats, that's democracy!
 
Democracy - fact is we never had it.

It is parliamentary democracy here which means that we get the right the right to vote in who we want and the elected then get the right to totally ignore our wishes and do what they please.
 
It's actually called proportional representation, which is why they are also becoming a king-maker party in the Netherlands.

If the Liberal party ever get their way and we move to PR then forget about complaining about the odd BNP councillor and Euro-MP, we'll actually have MPs from their party (and that does start to get scary).
 
i dont agree with anything the BNP say, but I believe they have every right to say it.
Hounding the guy so he cant say his piece is surely fascist in itself.

I'm quite left wing, but it doesnt make me so arrogant that I dont listen to what others have to say.
 
Funny how the egg throwing, self righteous brothers were nowhere to be seen when the muslim extremists were ranting at our homecoming soldiers and blocking roads for their own fanatical meetings. :D

And people have every right to protest against these terrorists, which is what exactly they are. These people have a history of inciting violence and hatred and a history of committing terrorist acts. Scum bags, the lot of them.

The BNP vote apparently didn't go up at all. Just the Labour vote collapsed so their (the BNP) proportion of the vote was larger.

In Europe far right parties generally poll much larger amounts than in the UK. We're pretty intolerant of fascists here. Guess that's because so many of us have neighbours, friends and relatives from across the racial spectrum, makes it kind of hard to think of them as 'the other'.
 
How can they call themselves the "British National" Party when they won't represent anyone other than white British? Millions of black, asian, indian and other minority races have been British nationals for generations. How are they any less British than any of the rest of us?

Obviously my suggestion of an anvil wasn't serious. And I agree that real suggestions of harming them just brings us down to their level.

I have said it once and i'll say it again:

While its an extreme situation that the BNP got a seat, the fact is that the british public are starting to speak out about how they are feeling.
We get no other voice other then a vote, and if people are feeling that the BNP policies (while a little extreme) are reason to vote them in, then the current crop of MPs need to look at the policies the BNP have and address the situation.

People arent happy with the levels of immigration, Labour seem to just let anyone in the country (we are harbouring Muslim radicals and extremists). The BNP want to change that, people have voted based on that fact, so labour now need to look at this and act accordingly to prevent any further BNP seats.

My 2p worth. I dont see it as a way forward at all having the BNP having a voice on this country, but i do see it as alarm bells for the labour party and which ever party wins the general election next year (hopefully one will be called sooner)

This reminds me of the situation in France a number of years ago when Jean Marie Le Pen came within a whisker of winning the French Elections.

Why?
Its been widely regarded that the good people of France just got so ****ed off with their Governments pandering to Immigrants that they decided enough was enough.
Do we think it was a coincidence that a few days later the French Government stood up and made a stand against Ethnic Minorities claiming they had been "Wronged" by this that and the next thing. Of course it wasnt, the people spoke and the government had no choice but to listen.

Another story was a number of years ago.
I was reading the Paper and the Headline was somehting like "LOONY LEFT BAN XMAS TREES IN COUNCIL BUILDINGS AS THE CAUSE OFFENSE TO MUSLIMS".

Below was a story about the larget Nativity Scene in the World and the Largest Xmas Tree in the World...Where was this.....It was in a shopping Mall in DUBIA.

I have friends who are Black, Muslim, Gay, i have no issues with any of them.
I do however have issues with a Stupid, Useless government Accusing me and the rest of the UK public of having Issues with them, i also have issues with Idiot, Moronic Protestors protesting against the War in Iraq, Afganistan and the BNP.

As my Friends Tatoo states "Scotland - LOVE HER OR LEAVE HER"

I will now go onto the issue of Illegal Immigrants.
These people come here claiming they are been oppressed etc, i have no issues with that but it does beg the question.

Why come all the way to the UK?
If i felt my life was in danger in my own country i would head to the nearest safe country.
I for one am not fooled by the "This is the nearest safe country" ********.

We accuse the BNP of being Facist Biggots with the same beliefs as Hitler.

Hitler commited some of the worst attrocities in the 2nd world war that is a fact which no one would dare oppose but Muslims extremists claim the extermaination of millions of Jews never happened.

Also let us not forget that the Good Old US of A committed the 2 Single Biggest acts of Genocide of the 2nd World war by dropping the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki they could have dropped those bombs on any of the smaller islands surrounding Japan and believe me the Japanese would have got the "Same Message" but no, they decided to nuke 2 large cities.

Before anyone tries to lambast the BNP or anyone else i suggest they go and read their History as they will find every country has had their really dark days in history and just because they are in the past it does not mean we have the automatic right to claim the moral highground now.

To segue this you're both wrong and right. The first night of fire bombing of Tokyo killed more people than died in total during and post Hiroshima and Nagasaki (as is actually pointed out in the Hiroshima Peace Museum). I have a feeling that more people were killed in the British fire bombing of Dresden than Nagasaki, but would need to look that one up.
 
I applaud the fact that everyone who has voiced an opinion in this thread has the freedom of speech to do just that. Let's not loose the plot.
 
Politics are a naughty subject on these hyar forums, as they always end up in arguments, tears and tantrums.

This thread can stay open, providing the discussion stays civil and polite.
Discuss the pathetic actions of the egg throwers and violence (and how stupidly ironic it was). Discuss the merits of the way the political system works, but please try and keep the discussion away from actual parties and the merits thereof.

Totally missing the point welly, most people didnt say they wanted the BNP in, but its happened so deal with it. Its the government that need to deal with the issues as to why the BNP have been voted in

You are probably 100% correct on the loss of life at Dresden and Tokyo but those were not Single Bombs, there are still people dying to this day due to the effects of those bombs and it will probably be the case for a number of years to come.

So because the USA and Muslims have done this or done that, it gives the BNP any justification for their hate mongering? *******s. I don't think people actually realise who we're dealing with. They're not just a "political party". John Tyndall, the founder of the BNP, was a nazi. Nick Griffin high up in the National Front and then was the co-founder of subsequent a neo-fascist splinter group. Almost all significant members of the BNP have had links with violent extreme right wing organisations such as Combat 18.

The BNP aren't just "fascist bigots" or have "bad ideas", these are evil, malicious people. I can't believe anyone can even begin to defend them or their policies. I'm absolutely shocked that there's any support for them at all.

Mainly its because English is the language of the world. But all countries have illegal immigrants. The US has quite a few British illegal immigrants.

WELLY - your voice and opinions are along the same lines as facist's themselves. MY opinion is correct and sod anyone else who argues differently. You need to chill out a little, the BNP are not the ruling party, but are merely voicing an opinion of what is termed "The common man". A certain part of the population believes in what they stand for, and so is ALLOWED BY LAW to voice this by voting.

Well it's nice to see that the Muslim world and Nick Griffin have something in common, since he referred to the Holocaust as "The Holohoax". Perhaps we can all just get along after all.

Also, there's no empirical evidence that Britain's immigration laws have any adverse effect on our economy or culture. Personally, I firmly believe that our multicultural nation (and it has been a multicultural nation right back through recorded history) is what gives Britain its strength - we're a melting pot of ideas and styles and that is why a tiny island like this can remain relevant on the world stage.

Next up... your newspaper headline about "LOONY LEFT BANS XMAS TREES" blah blah. Now I wouldn't want to say for sure, but I'm willing to suggest that this "news" (based on the tone of the headline) didn't come from a respectable news outlet, but far more likely The Sun or The Star. Far be it from me to tell you what you should or shouldn't read, but we live in a world where practically no news agency can be fully trusted to offer balanced reporting. The kind of rags that cater to the lowest common demoninator and print sensationalised guff to excite the fears of the masses become less citeable than wikipedia.

As for you drawing a line from Hitler and the Holocaust to Hiroshima and Nagasaki... I don't see an underlying point. Are you saying that we can't judge Hitler on a moral scale because of the bombing of Japan? We can. We can't necessarily claim a moral high ground, but we can take both these terrible situations and learn from them, not as nations or political groups, but as a species.

The problems the world faces now are global in scope. We can't take on the s***storm that lies ahead as insular nations, we can't hide in our gardens and ignore our neighbours. The BNP want to put up a wall against the rest of the world and think that the collapsing global economy, and the disintegrating environment will go away - but that just isn't so. At risk of sounding like some kind of hippy, these problems have to be taken on as a species - and salvaging the future of the species needs to transcend the kind of nonsensical, provincial thinking that organisations like the BNP represent.

I'm giving my opinion. Stick "In my opinion, " in front of everything I say. In my opinion, they haven't earned the right or deserve to have a voice. They're terrorists. If the BNP is the voice of the "common man" then I really fear for this country.
