The 1.6l S40 Mk2 I had was too basic on in-car comforts. But it did have one thing installed by previous owner and I do love to use: Parrot CK3100.

The new car is a Mercedes, it's got a phone button on the steering wheel. I have read that you can get a dongle that plugs into the armrest to enable bluetooth. But there's no AUX in so that would not solve my need to get music from my phone into the car.

So my options are:

1. Mercedes bluetooth dongle - £270 for new, £150 on ebay + £10 wired FM transmitter.

2. 3rd party bluetooth dongle that doubles as FM transmitter (MB-3) - £200. Reviews say music quality is terrible.

3. Parrot MKi9100 - £200 installed by Parrot approved installer. It'll have USB, AUX-in in the glove box, and a remote to control it, everything else is in the dashboard. Only downside is the steering wheel button stares at me.

4. DIY Install AUX - £30 for the cable and I've no idea what I'm doing even with a guide.

I want the cleanest possible solution with the least amount of clutter. The phone is already mounted on the window for SatNav. So operating by looking at the phone is not a problem.

Currently Parrot solution looks the best choice for me. What do you guys/gals think?

Is there any other solutions that I have missed?

What phone do you have?

Via bluetooth you can generally control (pause, unpause, next and previous) and if you have an iOS device, you get the name of what you are playing.

You won't get this via aux cable.

DO NOT DO FM!!!

Both wife and I have iPhone 4s, and I would want music from either of the phone during long trips.

Not too fussed about song names, I plan to use it for audiobooks mostly during my commute.

Is Parrot solution the best option?
