Never say never, there is always something to try.

Oh don't get me wrong I will try it ,but I was hopping to get some help in a photographic mind rather then just bluebells in a wood somewhere

Temple Newsam woods, they looked about a week off being perfect last week, so weather permitting this weekend they should be bob on last years efforts

Coming soon to a wood near you ..... :)

Usual spot I go is opposite the iron bridge near Ilkley, Middleton Woods, it usually has a good covering.

Edit Cant believe I missed Toms post, teach me to read the whole thread before posting

This may sound daft any chance pointing that out on googles of something as I don't know the area , say were to park ill be coming from the moors side ie baildon ,

I noticed last night a wooded area that is going blue (assume its blue bells) on Hawksworth Lane near The Bradford Golf Club in Hawksworth (near Baildon) itself. I didn't have time last night to take some photographs but given the weather today I wish I had now!

Didn't we last year have a google map with bluebells, poppies and lavender locations?

H Paul, not sure how wise it is asking me for directions :) But..... if your coming past Cow and calf rocks, drop down into Ilkley and turn right onto the main street. At the traffic lights go straight over towards the river cross the bridge and after about 200 mtrs turn right onto Denton Road towards the Lido, follow that road for a minute or so and as you turn a wide double bend and you will see the bridge on the right. Theres a layby to your left adjacent to the woods, you can park there, its not very big but I have never had trouble parking there and I take the dogs often. That's actually Hudson Woods but leads onto Middleton Woods, there are usually bluebells in both woods. Hope you can make some sense of that, I was never very good at giving directions :)

There may be better ways of getting to it but thats how I do it though to be fair I am coming from otley on the Denton Road

This is the Google map for the area

Edit :- Alternatively you could go straight on past Denton Road and turn right at Curly Hill the n you would have woods at either side of you, but not sure about parking there. Personally I prefer by the iron bridge with some nice photo ops of the river and bridge.

I always park up in that part (map where people often park up at the top - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=ilk...ey+lido&cid=0,0,18310672087399464860&t=h&z=20) it is just parking either side of the road, lots of space :) Only downside is that is a bit of a climb back up to the car if you go very far down the lower woods (towards the river).

They are also fairly big woods with lots of little tracks and paths so be careful you don't get lost ;)

Went past Spring Woods this week and the bluebells are stunning!
Would have stopped to take pics but the drought was belting down!

Yep, thats it Dave, if your lucky, the ice cream van will be there!

I'd join you, but got a bowling match.
It's Harmsworths Ice Cream. Usually parked at the entrance to car park. Should suit you there Dave, just a few yards to walk! :D

If you want food, go to the Whalley Abbey cafe, 10mins down the road, parking and good piccy's to be had!

Shame you cant make it, Baz, deffo check out the ice cream, when I was a lad at school I used to make Annie Massa's ice cream as an after school job, they were the days as much as I could eat, and she made a great hot vimto, in her parlour at the back of her shop, lovely warm coal fire

Off to Sidmouth for a week on Thurs.
Train ride (steam) and canal trip (horse drawn) booked, also visit to Buckfast Abbey and Exmouth. I don't care what the Mrs says, my cam and kit goes too!
Thinking of going to Malham on Wed to have a ganders at the Perigrines.
