bloody youtube

I would guess either youtube didnt wanna pay up for worldwide licenses or the artists/record labels want to control who gets what when....either way do seem a bit crap for the "World" wide web :(

Is it the videos you want Matt or just the music, if it is just the music have you tried spotify? like itunes, but free (and you dont download the tracks you just stream them)...not sure how good it is with current stuff though :(

Why are so many videos 'not in my country'? Its the internet FFS.

so everyone should give their work away for free?

will you giving all your photos away for free?

The problem is that youtube do not want to pay, but the artist's want paying!

It's a bit different with music videos though - where else can you get them? Maybe the artists should make them available if they want paying for them?

I like Country music - there is nowhere you can get music vids, we don't even have CMTV or VH1C available on satellite TV anymore in the UK :(

Artists and record labels are all for getting there music on youtube but the writers of the songs are wanting higher royalties for it and because no-one makes any money directly from them being there they wont pay it. So they are having to limit what goes up, there's a lot of tracks that are flat out not allowed on youtube now.

Luckily though, all the talent tend to write their own songs and that stays.

I don't like country music - but it's huge in the USA so it seems strange to me that there is not an outlet...

youtube is huge and they want it all on the cheap - like ebay they are getting greedy....

There's plenty of choices in the US - TV music channels, etc

But the vids on youtube dont work here in the UK

thought i'd bump this instead of making a new thread..

only just noticed today, dont bother listening to music on youtube, but got no music on the comp as the min (recent wipe/restore) so thought i'd listen you youtube like you do...

rather anoying, it's near enough all music thats popular.

did a search yfor a web proxy - problem sorted, can listen to anything now ;)

been using this one for now : http://weprox.com
im sure there will be better one's, but it was the first i came across and it work's fine :D

I always thought the idea of music videos is that they're adverts for cd's and restricting where they can be played is surely a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face.
