I bought a Peli case from the classifieds, it was not collected from the seller on Monday as promised, now it has not been delivered today as promised:annoyed:

I had guessed it would not arrive today as, according to the track and trace, after being collected at mid day on Tuesday it had not left Cambridge until 1.30 this morning and has, according to their site, been at the main sorting office all day since 8.50, by this morning it should have arrived at my local depot and show by mid day at the latest as being out for delivery.

I have waited in all bloody day disappointing Mrs G as we hoped to get out with the dogs later on.:annoyed:

I have never used them to send a parcel and never ever will, only once before have I had one delivered by them and that also arrived a day late.

:bang::bang::bang: is how I feel at the moment, especially now that I will be out all day tomorrow.........if an attempt is made :bang::bang::bang:

Snap on nearly every count there :bang: - Parcelfarce NEVER get a parcel to my address when its meant to be here - tracking the one for delivery to me it said due for delivery today, but sitting at Cambridge isn't going to get it delivered when I live in Cheshire.

I think we all have our least favourite carrier service - mine is Parcelforce
 
Well, as you two are both waiting for stuff from me, I'd better join in!

The chappie who collected yesterday was very apologetic and assured me that they would be upgraded to 24 hour delivery to make up for the fact they failed to turn up on Monday to collect them - although he could not explain why. From the track and trace service, it looks like the 24 hour upgrade was just said to pacify me.

Email to them is already written but I'm waiting for confirmation of delivery before it is sent.

I've long since stopped bothering to wait in for PF - I'll just go down and pick it up from their depot when I come home to one of those "Sorry we missed you" cards.
 
No need for any apologies at all from you Paul, is is not your fault, you did your bit, as soon as it was collected it was out of your control :)

my parcel was due tuesday pm and the guy knocked on my door at 9.00 am tuesday big smile no fuss no hassle.
Maybe thats why yours was late they were to busy trying to impress me:)

I won't be collecting as my "local" depot is over 30 miles away.

Agreed - not your fault at all mate - Parcelforce are a complete shower at the best of times.

Different areas seem to have different problem carriers - Citylink are really good into Cheshire but I believe if you say their name north of the border people spit on you :eek:
 
Try DHL, I used them to ship my old camera off, and it was picked up when promised and delivered when promised. Now I'm just waiting for feedback so Paypal can give me MY money.

I sent a set of golf clubs via DHL, they were tracked online by me at a depot in London at 4am, unfortunately the car boot they went in at 4.10am and the pub they were sold in at 11am weren't on the online tracking system.

Drop it Hide it Lose it sent me £100 for my £500 clubs which was nice :'( that's their max insurance payout or it was then, it may have changed now
 
You can specify the insurance now, up to a few K I think!

DHL were the bright sparks that once left a card saying my parcel, over a grands worth, was left hidden in the blue bin which happens to be my recycling bin, and fortunately for them was not due to be emptied that day.

I have never understood why it is that the customer has to insure against the incompetence of the carrier :shrug:
 
I know, but there seem to be horror stories for all the major carriers. If it's ebay stuff I add it in to the P&P fees.

Yes.. I've always wondered that!

I sent a whole box of Gamecube games I sold on Ebay, they ended up 90 miles away from the destination, delivered to a random person who faked the signature at a random company.

They were worth £200+, I got back £150 which I had to refund to the buyer (plus topping up the shortfall my end).
 
I really cant understand why anyone still uses Parcelfarce it has got the worst reputation around when it comes to collecting and delivering anything .... especially when there are specialist companies that really do deliver the goods spot on like interpaecel, Interparcel even give you about 10 different couriers to choose from with differing prices and services which are all guaranteed or your money back I always use them as I have NEVER been let down by them, they normally pick up at your home or workplace about 10am and deliver by 2pm next day and even better they are half the price of RM next day or Parcelfarce

I booked DHL through interparcel, made the process so much easier. To do it through DHL's site you need to register, and to do this you have to email them!
 
I've been let down several times by DHL booked through Interparcel, and have never had my money refunded.

When Parcel Force smashed up an insured PC it struck me that surely they should refund the cost of insurance, too.

Royal Mail's claims process used to be simple and efficient. Now I have to prove the production cost of items I've manufactured. Sometimes it would be better for the recipient to claim for delay instead, if possible.
 
As a consolation on the day, my cheque for £20.70 arrived from Royal Mail for a parcel I sent via Special Delivery that was a day late :)

Well i have a tale of woe atm, i ordered some bits from dabs (network hub etc.) Friday sent via 'Home Delivery Network', apparently they tried to deliver it Saturday when i actually chose monday as a delivery date, then they couldn't find the address monday, Tuesday they asked me to confirm my adders and today they told me its in the wrong depot god knows where in the country!!! so i asked if it would be delivered tomorrow, seeing as the service was meant to be next day, the answer i got was well do it asap but we cant guarantee anything!!!!!

dabs are refunding my my delivery charge of £8.90 wooperdee-frikin-do meanwhile i have computers not working. They offered me £20 voucher at dabs which i said, what use is a voucher when i wont be buying from you again, over the 5 years the company has used then we must have spent £1000's but they couldn't give a rats ass.

Interesting, personally i never wait for any parcel company to delever as all the depots are within easy driving to or from work. How ever parcelforce have always delevered before i head of to work, that before 0800hrs. Thats with there standard next day option.

about 5 years ago i won a gamecube game from a guy in scotland, I paid, it didn't arrive so I complained, he wouldn't put a claim in for compensation but would send a proof of posting to show he'd sent it.

next day I got an email with an attachment, it was a R M proof of posting card with 5 names and addresses above mine, the 5 in the number of items posted box had been changed to a 6 and the postmark was dated a day before i'd won the auction:bonk:

Criminals, they're not bright are they:lol:

It was only £8 so I negged him and put it down to experience

It's the sender's responsibility to ensure safe delivery, even when it's out of their hands and with the carrier.

Not sure what the situation is where insurance is an optional extra for an item that both parties acknowledge is over the standard maximum RM compensation rate of the value of 100 first class stamps. With PayPal/fleabay disputes, damage in transit isn't covered.
