Yes
I have a test today as ive had some health problems since i broke my leg and have had a massive hit to my immune system which causes all sorts of random infections.

I am not a drinker i dont smoke cigarettes but i do smoke marijuana, now although some people may think this is wrong i think its worst to go out and get legless and kill your liver....but that neither here nor there.

My question is what is the hospital going to say to me when they find levels of THC in my blood???

Can they say/do anything?

its not a big habit its purely recreational as im quite active i dont beleive in destroying your body.

They can say lots of things to you and probably will but don't worry, they won't be calling the police.

Steve.

Well you're not in danger of any legal repercussions - traces in your blood doesn't amount to 'possession'. I suppose they may comment on it, or advise against it's use, but I can't see any problems for you really.

Good luck with the tests.

yeah i mean im not worried about what they say that much, im kind of one of those people that loves arguing over the fact that thousands die of alcohol related disease every year yet nobody has ever died of cannabis abuse :D

Just wondering if their going to blame everything thats wrong with me on it, like slap on the wrist kind of thing :p

no tobacco for me... not a big fan, but yeah thats what i thought i reckon they might mention it just to see if its something i do regularly but now my leg is getting better and im slowly getting back into sport im not even going to be smoking that anymore.

Unless your GP has asked for drug screen they may not even bother to look for it.
Even if found, they will only advise as to your health.

ok cool well looking at the form their are looking at...

Renal
Liver
Glucose

then TFT whatever that is...

well you seem to know a little so i might fire a few more questions :p

what will these show from the blood?

The only reason I know what they are is that I load the samples and book them on to computer.
All the codes are numbers or letters.
As for what they show, you'll have to speak to medics.

fair enough whent at 13.30 didnt even have to wait, i was in and out in 5 minutes.

Wait till it causes you mental health problems, and then when you look back on your life and go "damn, this really messed me up". I know, I'm there!

And for point of this argument, i also dont get drunk either. I like an odd glass of wine or beer

Ha :)
I guess you work at Derriford then. After the last blood test I had there I passed out :D I'm fine with needles and stuff but hadn't eaten yet that day, I got up off the chair walked to the exit of the out-patient part of the hospital and then woke up with a nurse holding my legs in the air

Spot on mate. Derriford it is :bang:
As for the nurse holding your legs up....:whistling:

good planning COL M

none of these tests will show THC. A blood tox screen takes about 2 weeks and costs money so the NHS wont look unless they think you are suffering from an acute drug reaction, even then its to confirm after the fact in most cases. Pee is much easier to test for recrenational drugs again only likely on the NHS if you turn up in A&E with symptoms that include things like strange behaviour.

They are basicly giving you an MOT checking for comon problems in the UK population that cause general ill health.

The renal tests will make sure your kindneys are functioning ok and that you dont have a build up of rubbish in your system.

As the liver regulaets a lot of stuff they are checking that works ok. The glucose test is basicly looking for diabities and the throid function test will tell them if your throid is regulating ok as a bad thorid can cause all sorts of problems.

your amazing

thanks for the exact explenation i was looking for
