Really like the bicycle shot. Very evocative.
Could just imagined Donald Sutherland riding that!!
Hi Lynne, number 1 doesn't really work for me, not totally sure why though? Not really keen on the angle, did you have any pics from the opposite side, having the clock facing you? If that makes sense.
Number 2, I really like this one, I see what you mean about that reflection, but I don't think it takes anything away.
Sorry it's brief - I'm lagging behind again!
Mineral - Lovely shot, agree with your own comments. Not sure about the placing of the text though.
Dark - Gorgeous! Love the teeth marks.
Time - Second one for me; it has that perfect "bygone" look to it.

Hi Lynne, on the subject of chocolate Hotel Chocolat does some very nice dark stuff, it isn't the cheapest but well worth it! I stock up in the sales, yum!
Time, I like the idea in number one, the processing works well but the vignette makes it a little too dark around the edgesfor me!
Number two is very olde worldy, I like it and works for the theme![]()

2nd for me too looks old from another time
Hi Lynne
Dark - so predictable.
Good saturated colours - otheres have commented on background but it looks ok to me. Like the natural breakage of the choc pieces.. But the design of the packet where the black blobby thing intrudes makes it seem a bit untidy.
Time - #1 on theme and like the pp. Subject matter seems entirely appropriate with both the clock and the old artifacts. Perhaps lose a little at the right edge.
#2 - good shot and the muted colours help the attachment to the theme theme.
PS what does 'Manx time' mean?
....Manx time is the best time of the year...Manx GP on the Isle of Man Hi Lynne, sorry it's been a while.
It's good to see you battling on with the 52, I know you'll make it.
The pano stands out for me from recent weeks, it's a nice scene.
Was it a stich of multiple pictures?
The exposure in the sky appears very different from the left to the right of the frame, ie blue sky on the right.
#2 with the bicycle is a smashing shot. It certainly feels from a different or bygone time.

I'm liking the focus on the spider's back and it's nice and sharp. Well composed.
Just the tiny white dots stand out...worth a mention.
- lovely colours and good composition. It looks v healthy!! Cheers Andy,no extension tubes just the macro lens hand held. The white bits are dust or similar on the bin lid .Body, cracker, your best one for a while (that is a compliment, but doesn't seem like it)

Did you use your tubes?
Cheers.
Hi Lynne!
When I first looked at your image for body I thought you'd missed the focus. Its generally best to focus on the eyes/head of any living creature but I now think in this case that the focus is spot on being on the body.
Lovely detail and colour tones in the spider which are really accentuated against the darker background. Good work all round Missusmore so if you are not particularly keen on these wee creatures

oh I have missed some of yours!
time - I prefer no.1 as it features a clock so closer to the theme, both lovely pics tho
body - the unfocussed area on the right is distracting and the spider has no head - but the theme is body so heads don't count![]()
really nice spider shot lovely detail on its back![]()
This!
Nice one Lynne, like the focus on its back and is well composed.
You did well with this one especially if you say you don't like spiders.
The detail in the back is really good. I would say it looks like you could reach out an touch it but you probably wouldn't want to.
Hi Lynne
Body - Cracking focus on the 'body'- lovely colours and good composition. It looks v healthy!!

Agree with Summer that the oof 'line' at the rh side distracts and would consider a crop, altho then the shot would be square and prob not as attractive.
I did not know that you were a Manx bike buff. We were there on weekend of 18th Aug - not been to IoM before and had a good look round the 'pits'/tents at the awesome bikes, but could not make any of the practice laps as we were at the dance festival at Villa Marina. Good 40s weekend at Port Erin too. Sadly sun only shone once in 4 days so many photos a bit grey.
Today on the mountain was quite bad, fog got so bad you couldn't see Joeys memorial from the bungalow bridge.... still they raced on

quick linkyWHATquick linky
Well what do ya know, they got a sale on too!!!
Body, cracking detail on the back. I think you've done well with such an offending bug![]()

Hi, there, Liquid, like it. Well composed and nice motion blur. I like how the underside of the wheel feels like it's coming out of the screen! 1/4 second handheld...nice one.
Reshoot, this is one of these everybody does at some point as I have, and yours works well. The rust really stands out and the DOF is great.
Up, tram's on the lower 1/3rd, but would work better if taken a tad earlier so the tram was framed within the polls. Blooming sheep lower right draws eye away a bit.
Good show...
Cheers.
Hiya Lynne. Liquid, I like it, it certainly does feel like it's coming out of the screen!
Mineral reshoot, the rust is standing out very nicely, good lighting and bg.
Up, nice scene and bang on theme. I think a square crop would suit this picture.
Liquid is lovely, as you say the colour is fab, the water drops are fab, and the movement is fab. I think that makes it... fab? Yes! Fab!
Mineral is nice too, I think this would also work for contrast. Maybe it's because a few others have posted similar pics, but the subject doesn't interest me much. That said it's very well executed.
Up is really nicely composed, excellent use of leading lines. Lovely colours too and bang on theme. Nicely done!
Hi Lynne
Glad that you had a good time in IoM. My Laxey wheel shots were defeated by a dreary day.
Liquid - well done. The blown out left seems to be the price to pay for such a lovely motion blur - just enough to maintain the detail and colour in the wheel whist indicating its motion and the water dropping.
Mineral - good clear shot and capture of colour and texture. Shadow across horizontal piece spoils it a bit and i have seen a lot of barbed wireso doesn't thrill me.
Up - on theme and good points made by Andy but kept looking for sheep lower left and this made me miss the sheep middle right.sheep would be better if no shadow across it and the front poles seem to be not quite uprigth - but a straighten would alter the back ones ?? But i really like the subtle colours and the simple composition and overall a good shot

oo that's really pretty, must get my ass to IoM sometime
pic could be taken in the Alps! love it![]()
I think your UP is the most original interpretation I have seen so far.
Hiya Lynne,
Had a spare minute so thought I'd pop past and see how you are getting along with your Photo52 this year and WOW WOW WOW ..... you have a fantastic project here so far.
Thinking back to last year's photo52 and looking at these photos and images you have here I can only congratulate you on developing your photography skills so well.
It is great to see the progress you have made and the way you have broadened your photographic horizons.
Keep up the brilliant work and I look forward to seeing the complete set at the end of the year.
I will try to pop past again soon.
Take care and keep up the brill work.
Luv
D xxxx

Great to "see" you round these parts again , was begining to think you'd vanished forever
I have just discovered the crop presets in CS5, very clever, especially if you're considering cropping to print something awkward like an 8x10 from a crop sensor camera!I never can get the hang of crops !
Sheep...never noticed them ...think I need to got to specsavers![]()

The landscape layout gives a much greater depth to the shot with the track leading you through from the foreground into the distance! That little stone is now in cloud and blends in naturally and the additional sheep make them more part of the shot than ruining it! The position of the tram works better as well.
