Hi Lynne, random shots are all good to me. Nice colour and composition in number one, two made me chuckle and number three is just hilarious! The conversion to B&W suits it and I can see a smirk on his face top!
Temperature is a very simple but cracking shot, great composition and the blue really says hot! I think even if you were a big pro tog it would still take them a lot of shots to nail the focus, some things just ain't easy!
Keep up the good work and well done for getting this far. Oh and your thread title still says week 21!

+1 for the shot, though a bit soft for the reasons you stated, but -1 for burning whisky ... sacrilege![]()

Random - the colour rear wings is the best shot for me by far, and #2 best interpretation of the theme.
Temperature - wow great shot. You don't make life easy for yourself do you!
Hiya Lynne, very good shot and I like the blue in the flame. If anything I would like to see more space at the top.
Random - I really like your number 1 shot of the wind deflector and the bold colours looks like you had a fantastic day toobang on theme and nice capture.
Temperature - Don't set fire to your cheap whiskey, box it up and send it to me instead lol.
I think this works well for the theme and like the blueish tones from the flames, nice black background and good 1/3 positioning. Yup it works for me. I'll check back later and see what you second idea is ! I'm glad this weeks theme isn't entitled 'Explosive'
Nick
shot a couple of my 2nd idea last night but not what I hoped for....needed different/better lighting but no idea how...may still post up over the weekend
I love your random pictures. I was going to try a shot of cars in a car park for my random shot, that didn't happen. The 3 are all great shots.
Temperature. Great colour. I like it a lot.
Hi Lynne, so you're a firestarter too are you?! It really is good fun not knowing whether or not the house will survive isn't it!!
I like this shot. Nice colours and composition, and you got the focus just right. In a perfect world I'd have liked to see the stand burned out, but it takes a while to see it anyway so that's minor
Lovin' it!

No 1 on the random pics for me love the flame pic love the blue with the hint of red in the glass, i would have set fire to the kitchen so well done for not doing so![]()
Random I like the recession effect of the fins in #1. I was amused by #3 though. At least Ive got a proper car where the engine fills the whole of the area under the bonnet
Temperature - The exposure has been nicely handled and I like the off centre composition.

Authority - good shot, well executed. Got to love a police doggy!
Leave - you should be very proud of this one. Great shot, a classic and the wedding party should be very proud
Random - I like #1 as a shot but #3 has to have it for the theme!! Very random hehe![]()
Temperature - nice colours and composition, good take on the theme.
You really do know how to get black BGs....
Cracking vivid blue there and some nice detail.
Not easy I suspect but I'd like to see the front of the glass in focus.
Cheers and looking forward to Temperature 2.
love it, also interesting how many have gone for hot as opposed to cold lol, must be the weather!![]()

Hi Lynne
Temperature - Hot and spot on theme, liking the blue flame and the way it goes into the glass too

#2 defo more abstract Lynne so it gets my vote, interesting process - and congrats on the promotion![]()
Very nice flower pic Lynne, very good indeed. But I will go with number 2, and very pleased I have inspired you! The glowing edges has worked very well here.
Promotion...kkerrcchhinngggg.....shopping....
#1 for me. Great colours and I really like the edges.
#2 is on theme but a tad squiffy. Also the BG looks noisy and what's the blue I can see in parts?
Congrats again with the promotion....do you get to shout at staff now....
Cheers.
yeah , not sure what happend to the BG , maybe its the pp
....can't see any blue bits mister , other than the glowing edges which are meant to be blue , I did boost them a bit cos I liked it
Actually I'm meant to be learning about " soft" management , hah...not a bloomin prayer

I don't think the flower is all that abstract, even though it's a nice shot, but the forks are! Very very nice indeed. Needs a straighten though![]()
I really like your second shot for abstract Lynne, it say abstract more then a centre of a flower to me. Both very good shots though.![]()
Congratulation on your promotion Lynne well done
I like your macro shot and am impressed with the detail, very nice focus and lighting but for me abstract doesn't jump out. However, I think you have nailed it with No2, the interlinked forks work very well, trademark black background is also working for you. Nick![]()

Macro looks great but as you say its a nightmare to photograph - you set it up, focus move away and the focus has changed. I tried some flower shots outside yesterday but failed big time on focus so decided to bring the garden inside today!!#2 is more on theme Lynne but I can't fault #1 for the execution. The sharpness in detail, vibrant colours and overall composition make it for me a cracking photograph.
I do like #2 also, the background has been mentioned but doesn't detract anything from the photograph. Nice detail in there too, I must have been a magpie in a former life as shiny things in photographs really appeal to me![]()

Abstract 2 - 2.1 slow pan on the tripod, 2.2 elervation on the tripod ? very nice and vert abstract, it's working for me but I prefer No 1 out of the two. Nice work![]()
Ironically, and it's a choice. Of #2 or #3 for me. I have I'm on my phone so will comment proper later...
Cheers.
sorry i haven't stopped by for a while Lynne, have been a bit manic with other things
Temperature is a great idea and really well executed
Abstract, think the second set works better and its no 2 for me

Hi Lynne, what a great two sets you have taken!!Macro looks great but as you say its a nightmare to photograph - you set it up, focus move away and the focus has changed. I tried some flower shots outside yesterday but failed big time on focus so decided to bring the garden inside today!!
I like your panning shots the colours are great on them and very easy on the eye!![]()
I spent ages deciding - too much choice lol, but finally settled on no.1 altho maybe a lil bit of PP would make it more abstract, colour tint or closer crop maybe, although I do like the petals showing in it![]()
No 2 of the reshoots for me the colours work so much better![]()
Hi Lynne
Random - 3 good shots and all on theme and the last 2 raise a smile. But #1 is super photo, focus, composition, crop, colour
temperature - bang on theme with good colour rendition and focus. A blue flame indicating temperature rather than the more common red flame.agree with another post that a bit more space at top might work
Abstract - both good but #2 looks more on theme. Like the composition and focus and light and the black background. I saw the blue and thought that it was deliberate on your part and added to the pic.But why are they wonkey in the frame? Is that deliberate?
the forks wouldn't go together to creat an even image so left it slightly on the squiff...after all it is abstract My favourite is your #1 of your first set - lovely quality. #2 of your second set works more as an abstract for me. Nicely done.
Hi Lynne, you have been busy
I love number one, but maybe not abstract enough.
Number two is also great, just enough glowing edges to add something different but not too much, it does need a slight straighten though.
Three, what is it? Nice and straight though.
Four and five and definitely the best for the theme, but I prefer five![]()

Great shots for your abstract.
#1 and #2 of the first set are good pictures, #2 is a winner for me in terms of the theme. Interesting idea and nice result.
#1 of the second set is lovely, nice and calming and could make a set with that one that Andy took!
#2 and #3 arent really doing much for me, sorry!!

It's miles offSymmetry...got an urge to lie under a pylon.....didn't fancy the stinging nettles under them though so opted for this head-on upwards shot . Then spent 3 days trying to make sure it was straight ...still not certain![]()
