weekly Blondies 2012 52 wk52 BUSY - Finished !

A simple shot thats well thought out and well executed is as good as any jiggery pokery and i think you've achieved it with this, focus is spot on and love the reflections

Hi Lynne,

I'm still playing catch-up and have just managed to view your Week 1 drain hole images which are amazing. I really like them and I too never knew they existed.

Week 2 - difficult subject and potentially a quite dark one. I like your Zippo and Butane photograph. The black background works well on the reflective surface

Great start to your 52

Also relived to know that you and the conservatory remain intact which is also a bonus :)

Wow, you ARE keen :D, are you sure you don't fancy a 366 at the same time ;)
I would see this as danger rather than fear but its how YOU see it that matters,
The crop is a tiny bit tight for me but a well executed picture, well done and thanks for sharing
Best wishes
Cliff

Thanks for popping in Cliff..much appreciated  Crop had to be tight...the background was a rush job...black card sort of propped against the blinds & only half under the mirror  Yup , thought it may say more Danger but I was definately more than a touch fearful at trying this...had visions of trying to explain to the insurance co how I'd blown the conservatory up

Well done Lynne for the early post.

I can see danger, and fear, so nice one; and you've done well with the reflections which are as crisp as they could be. You've done very well with the flame as well.

My only critiscism, is that the lighter and can appear too seperate. Now I know you couldn't put it too close :bonk:, but maybe have the lighter slightly forward and right to close the gap, of vice versa.

I might have an edit.

Anyway, well done.

I've just uploaded my fear and it's not worked out....I have a backup, but it's a risky one.

Cheers.

Still going strong, Lynne.

I like the 'Fear' shot, well executed. good lighting and very sharp. The blue of the flame just stand out so well from the black surrounds.

Never give up....it's my moto for 2012 :D Thanks for the comments...much appreciated Stan

Hiya Lynne, great idea! Well done.......on not blowing the conservatory up

Flame is a tad bright, but hey it's meant to be.

Hi Michael...thanks for commenting . The flame is niggling me a bit but as a
1st real attempt I'm quite pleased . Had to hold a placemat in front of it for 6 seconds then uncovered it for 4 seconds...wanted to get the light right on the can...any tips on doing this type of shot much appreciated

The plug holes are amazing...def on for a revisit after the next lot of heavy rain...should'nt be too long then !

Hi Andy & cheers for popping in  Yup...I thought about putting them closer together ....then bottled it...I do have a little bit of sanity left

Had to post early cos I need to get ready & get some practicing in for next weekend ..... off to see your post

Wow can't believe how many people have got their week 2 photos up already.

I like the lighting, the reflection and the clarity .

Good work, following with interest :)

Good idea Lynne....

Glad you didn't blow yourself up with this one....

Love the reflections, really crisp and sharp shot...

If I am being ultra critical, the shot isn't equal top and bottom which bothers me for some reason.. I also think that the canister needs to be a little brighter maybe...

Still liking it a whole lot....

Nice one Lynne, a great shot well executed. I would just echo what has been said about the possible use of an ND filter

I like the reflections. Any chance of putting links to your pictures in the first post?

Love it , great shot , maybe a slight crop off the top if i was going to be really picky but I'm not.

Steve

I really like your fear shot. It does depict danger more than fear maybe, but that's OK because it generates fear!

What a great thing them plug holes are - I love the movement of the water in both shots :)

Your week 2 pic has great reflections - again nicely thought out :)

Good luck with the rest of your 52... i'll be looking forward to see what you come up with

I like the flame and also the reflections - I wish I had thought about using reflections in my shot now as well - Oh well, next time!!

Well done!

Hi Paul......at the risk of denting my bank balance even more.....feel free to post your shot...be good to see another angle & another lens ability . Took my shot on the kit 18-55 lens....must try standing on the wall when I'm next there...was doing my nut trying to get the whole thing in frame:lol:

Cheers for popping in Roly..appreciate it...there will be weeks when you hit on 3 or 4 idea's....make the most of it cos some weeks it's a real battle to think of even 1/2 an idea....as a survivor from 2011's 52 I speak from experience :D

i was balancing off wall a bit silly really next time i go i will be taking some large step ladders

Lynne
like the "plugs", i have tried several times to get a decent shot of them, but struggled to get the framing right.
The fear (Pyrophobia) shot works well for me, love the reflection and the simplicity.
Look forward to seeing more

Thanks Martin.....looking at it now I wish I'd got more light on the word GAS...but don't think I'll push my luck with a reshoot

Nothing wrong with being with an 'old flame ' :) it's a great image!

Cheers Nick :)

That's a very clever idea, images that create fear. You've really pulled it off too. Great composition and I like the reflections.

Hi Lynne,

I finally made it around to your thread! Slowly working my way through the list and as you know, there's quite a few of us doing this now.

Direction - I prefer the 2nd version of the plug hole images, but the one of your mate is bang on theme too.

Fear - Nice reflections and good take on the theme.

Like the soft light and reflection. Glad the conservatory survived ;)

I like your idea on the Fear theme, its certainly a fear of most people, fire that is. Looks good with the low key lighting drawing you attention to the relevant bits.

As for number one, i'm jealous, I love the peaks especially since moving down to the flat as a pancake county of Norfolk, and with the price of fuel I ust cant get back up there as often as I would like. Nice shot

Hi Lynne, slowly catching up with all subscribed threads :).

Direction pics are excellent, love them, especially the 1st one.

Now fear, hehehe, brilliant pic and interpretation. Not sure I'd have the balls to try something like that, I like a roof on me house ;).

Looking forward to seeing more of your 52
