week 1 & already stumped for idea's...actually a few idea's just not the skill or models to execute them :'(
So...this is as good as it gets for this week for me....not happy with it , doesn't say sin to me , but Eve did have a nice red apple so there's a very loose connection !


Wk 1 Sin by llj666, on Flickr

Shot this evening amid a few sheets of black paper , 18-55 lens on tripod with timer delay(to allow me to jiggle the paper in position & block some of the light) Wanted to do light painting but didn't work out . Originally wanted a black background but the red glow grew on me so it stayed :D

So , feel free to rip it to pieces ...I've moved on to the next week already....crikey , thats 2 weeks away :eek:
 
Good start to your 52 Lynne, nice even lighting on the apple. Perhaps a bite out of the apple would nail it to the theme more.? :thinking:

Wasn't hard, was it :D

On theme, for me, connection to Adam and all that.

It has quite a sinister feel to it and the red really adds impact. Slight halo in the left hand edge of the apple...or is that rim light :thumbs:

Well is is a while until week 2 :whistling:

Shame the light painting never worked Lynne, there's a whole year ahead to work on it
I like the redness of the shot for the sinful look
Think you're right though, a couple of semi clad, gorgeously lit models would have set it off a bit :D

I get the connection maybe if the apple stood out a bit more it tends to blend in but on saying that I do like the background colour :thumbs:

Cheers Iain...thought about a bite in the apple---but those shiny red apples make my teeth go funny :lol: Plus...I wanted something a little different to the obvious shot , but I may just try it !

I think I'd quite like to have a go at some studio work...though in the interests of equality we'd need to have some scantily clad mean n moody men :thumbs:

Hi ya matey...thanks for popping in....sinister & devilish looking was the effect I was afterbut , yeah , see what you're saying....maybe a reshoot candidate :thinking:

As for week 1, umm, sorry to be negative on your first week, but it's not for me.
The connection to sin is there, now you've said it!, but the image isn't doing anything for me.

I think it's the colour and processing. Perhaps a simple OCF of an apple would be better, maybe with a bite in it?

Now, you say models and I'm thinking saints and sinners parties, there's a sin picture I'd be happy to see - come on TP, who will pose for Lynne?

Now then Mister....was never gonna be everyone's cup of tea...I'm not even sure I like it :shrug: But I was totally stumped for idea's ( do-able one's anyway)...though I may just get some one on the Malverns meet to model for me...any takers :naughty: & I have no idea about OCF....may pick your brains on the meet cos you seem to have sussed that skill for sure :thumbs:

Nice crisp photo, I like the halo effect Round the apple and it works well with the black background.

I really like the style, dark and slightly scary. Technically excellent, but the composition says "temptation" more than sin to me if I'm frank.

Good luck for the rest of 2013
 
Good one Lynne. I agree it doesn't say sin without knowing the connection, but it's a nice shot. I especially like the colour.
 
Nice shot! I like the variations of red too. I don't mind the glow to be honest, think it adds a little to the shot, I do get a bit distracted though by whatever it is the apples resting on?
 
A deliciously tempting apple Lynne. I like the warm colours with the warm glow. A good shot with an unusual background. Nice one!
