I thought I might like to present my flickr photos in a blog, has anyone got any recommendations or examples? So I can make a decision on what to use.

Wordpress site in conjunction with an IFTTT Recipe (https://ifttt.com/recipes/74051) used to auto picture post to your word press site when you upload new pictures to Flickr (If that is what you want of course)

This might sound like a odd question, and i'm not trying to go off topic, but what actually is the point of a Blog, it might be that this has totally passed my by, but i have never really seen the point of them

Also, how do you know if anyone views it, can you see how much traffic it has?

I actually wanted a better way to display set of photos - the 'share' from flickr - > wordpress is for one photo at a time. Need to see if there's another way to do this. Might just have to build them manually within a post.

Within minutes of making two posts I've had two 'likes' and one 'follow'

hmmm

What is the point of a blog? The same as any other website, to get your work online. Sure, you can do that on Flickr, but I personally wanted something that was my own.

In terms of traffic, etc, this kind of thing is included in the dashboard for the site, and can be accessed easily.

Dan, just in case you didn't know there is a self-hosted version of Wordpress available too, meaning that you can build your own site on it with your own domain name - cookphotography.com

checkout wordpress.org

I do own www.danielcook.com, I'm also a professional web developer... heh I should make my own website really - but the built in social networking is just convenient.

I have to buck the trend and vote for Blogger - sharing whole sets from Flickr is easy peasy, if you link your accounts. Lots of templates available, and so quick to set up. Have a gander at mine for an idea: http://www.35millimetre.co.uk
