A question for anyone who may know the answer

I have a couple of windows I would like to get roller blinds for

How do you measure for such things properly?

Does the measurement take into account the fixings when buying?

I want my blind to be on the inside on the window casing and so the blind is flush with the wall when down if that makes sense

Any help for more knowledgeable people than I would be gratefully received :)
 
When we ordered vertical blinds we simply measured the internal window dimensions and sent to the company with our order, they knew what to allow for the supplied fixings.
 
Internal measurement, wall to wall and the drop- top to bottom.

Remember to drill into the side walls, not the top, when you do it :)

Most manufacturers will give measuring instructions and many make it easy by just requiring the height and breadth of the recess.

Google "measuring window blinds" and you'll get loads of info.
 
I have been given a provisional quote of £75 to measure, supply and fit 2 rollers blinds

Is that a good price or am I being..... errm.... robbed blind
 
Worth getting it done,otherwise you'll have to cut them to fit, diy was great when i enjoyed it but now i'd rather pay to get certain jobs done.

It beats faffing around- let someone else have the hassle.
 
I always ask myself, would I do it for that price ... I think it's a fair deal :)

Work out how much you value your time - and that's the time spent sourcing, cutting, fitting it etc. Then add on the potential for arsing it up (might be small for you, would be quite large for clumsy llama).
I'd consider £75 reasonable for getting someone else to just deal with it. It would be different if it were a job you'd done before and were confident you could nail it in half an hour.
 
At £75, assuming the blinds are not for a dolls house, I think you're getting a good deal for supply and fit
 
Well they came and measured up, will be coming back next Thursday to fit them

There I was thinking I would get a lie in tomorrow morning, they have just been in touch to say they will be here early doors
