Ok the video is now released....whatever your pre-conceptions of the band were (or still are) then have a look again as things have changed :)

The song has been written, produced and performed by them at my lad's studio - and the film below was actually shot by them and video director Andy Hylton in Japan - here is the video that accompanies the reformed Blazin' Squad's new single!

And for those of you who don't know my lad James - he is the one with the suit and tie and red hair :)

I give you "Lets Start Again" :) (John beams with fatherly pride )

The musics not my scene at all, but very well done to him for making something of it !

Cant blame you at all for being proud !

Would James be beaming with pride if I say I can tell who his dad is :naughty: :D

Got to say, not really my cuppa, but I have a 17yr old daughter that will love it. Very best of luck to them John, I know from what you have said before that they have worked hard to get back here, as it were

Thanks Rikki and Yv :)

Yv - please tell me we don't look alike - so unfair on him :D

Yeah they've been working hard for a long while - they formed in late 2001 and its been a bit mad since then :D

They've had there successes and a weathered fair share of criticism for a long while - but I love 'em :D

But I'm biased :D:D

Not my type of music either John But It all looks very professional
and I wish them all the best

 Well done to your boy and the others for not giving up! I think (now transporting myself back to my teens) this is great and I would buy it! I have a 15 (almost 16) year old sister who will no doubt love it. I shall link her up when I speak to her next.

I can see why you're so proud John!

Thanks Chris, Marc and Jo :)

I still can't see how he looks like me :D I seriously can't :D

Fingers x'd it does well :)

It's a good video, music ain't that bad, let's hope they can shake off their old image.

Thanks you JayKay and Susane, glad you like it :)

The image thing has always been tricky but heres hoping people give them a chance :)

Scuse my ignorance, but whats with the image thing ?

What was the problem before ?

Blazin Squad got to #1 in 2002 with Crossroads but were seen as a manufactured bunch of So Solid Crew wannabes :) They kind of suffered the 'chav' label for a while - bunch of middle class kids acting street

Fact is they aren't middle class or manufactured just a bunch of ordinary 15 years old mates from E4 who loved performing rap music and garage music , wrote their own stuff as well and who got spotted by a record company got a deal and made some music with some success :)

But as they used to say you're not rated unless your hated :)

I have a very wide taste in music from Indian music through to Pink Floyd and "love em or hate em" Simply Red, I also liked that as well and hopefully they will pick up an older audience with that number.

You must be very proud indeed

I use to think blazin squad was cheesy , but I really like the song in this video :)

Not that keen on the video, it Say's tourist to me rather than maybe street, however I think the track is top quality work and I wish them good luck.

Thanks again folks for the support - I'm not sure they were trying to say 'street' with this one Richard - that was early Blazin' :)

i wish them good luck, the video is quite good, and i can see that tune getting stuck in many peoples heads.

I remember them...came in to the 90s too late by about 3 year otherwise they would be a household name but like I said to late ....brilliant band with a good following and I am sure this is not the last we will hear of them.....

You should be proud as I am sure I would be if it were my lad

If I tell you they're good, can I have a friends and family discount to book them for my wedding reception? ;):D

Not my style of music at all, but It looks a well made vid, and the song is 100% better than most of the stuff out there. They have certainly put the work in by the looks of it, I wish them all the success with it.

You must be well proud.

Thanks again all :)

Dee - we can sort something I'm sure :D!!!

Well its the 4th most viewed music vid today on youtube in the UK so hopefully thats a good sign :) (I expect its you lot hehe :D)

Vids tend to leave me cold - so to say that this one left me lukewarm is a compliment. :) I find they distract me from the music, and find the scene changes slightly too quickly for me to take anything on board. (I know I'm probably alone out there!) Having said that - I was interested enough to be distracted - so it can't be bad! Sorry for rambling.

When I listened again with my eyes closed, I heard the quality of the production that's gone into the song. I loved the strong base line and the change in mood about two-thirds of the way through. I didn't know about their previous history so had no pre-conceptions. I guess it will appeal to a wide range of people - me for one - and you're right to be proud of your lad, John - he done good. :)

I wish them every success.:)

Thanks Jean and at least this time they can say its 100% their own work from concept, through performance and instrumentation to the finished product :)

Crossroads was one of my all time top tunes till blazin squad butchered it :lol:

Gotta say though, seeing this for what it is and without rose tinted glasses ;) it shows they really do have a talent and its well thrown together, I like it, I wouldnt buy it though as its not my cup of tea, I can see the artistic merit but it still does nothing for me.

Wish them all the best though.

Thanks for that Lee - its appreciated :) I suspect that its not the perfect cup of tea for the average TPF member  but the support from you guys is very much appreciated by me (and by James!)

That's not what I expected at all! My memories of Blazin' Squad are......erm......less than favourable, but I was very pleasantly surprised by that! I was thinking it was going to be somewhere between cheesey boyband and blackout crew (a "band" who I still haven't worked out if it's meant to be some kind of joke or not!). :D

It not usually my kind of music, but I'd listen to it which is more than I can say for much of the rest of it's genre! It looks really well done, congratulations and I hope it is the first of many!

Thanks Chris I will pass your words and best wishes onto James and the lads as I will with the rest of the kind kind words in this thread :)

Hi John, :)

I've just listened to this track and firstly I have to say that I have never heard of them until now, so anything that has been said or 'aired' in the past, I never heard it and this little video will be the first I've seen.

After listening to all of this track, although this style of music isn't quite my kind, I do not dislike it. It has good rhythm, is mellow and I really do like they're style in the way they submit themselves on film, even moreso as they are not in one place but moving around here and there. (Almost reminds me of clips from 'Collateral' (Tom Cruise & Jamie Foxx)).

I wish your son and his crew the very best of luck John and for me this looks promising indeed. Good luck. :)

Your welcome John and good luck to them. :)

I've got to say, I wasn't sure what I was expecting but this is different from what I remember Blazing Squad as and I was pleasantly surprised. I like it actuall and husband said that's not bad - what are you listening to and I said Blazing Squad - he was surprised to

Well done to your son John :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: and the rest of the members as well

Wow!

That's fantastic. Great video and I love the song, it reminds me a bit of the first album from The Streets (before they become rubbish). You should be very proud.

I must admit if it was my son I would be a bit worried about the rock and roll life!

Cheers Kelly and Pete - as for the Rock and Roll lifestyle - they started this when they were 15 :) They've been to South Africa (for the first Vid), most of Europe, completed 2 UK tours as well as hundreds of smaller gigs - it was a biiiig worry in the early days yes you're right.

But James has a good head on his shoulders (I think ;)) and you've got to trust 'em to be sensible in the face of all manner of temptation - so far so good :)

And how I wish it was me sometimes :lol::lol:
