What are you using and where are you buying them?

SVP and whatevers cheap and got a good review :)

I normally buy Datawrite Titanium from BigPockets - but they dont seem to have the ones I normally buy on their site at the moment :(

Taiyo Yuden printable DVD-Rs here. They're not cheap but far more reliable than anything else I've used. I've been getting them from OCUK (we allowed to mention them???) recently, they're a bit more expensive than SVP but I've found SVP's delivery to be a bit erratic at times.

Thanks guys, I was seriously considering 100 of the Yuden discs from SVP when I saw they used google checkout but there's no £10 off :(

I've been using yellow Datawrite discs for long enough without problems but wanted printable discs this time and got confused :)

Seems SVP do the ones I normally have - cant seem to find them in my other normal places though :| hope they arent stopping them. Have used probably almost 2000 of the Datawrite Titaniums now and get maybe 1 fail in 100, which I am never sure if its the duplicator or the disc (some go back into the duplicator and work fine, so I think most of the time its the duplicator)

The DVD Copies back-up discs look great when finished..

I been using Verbatim Lightscribe ones, even better than printing

SVP. I have used their special offers in the past but always had a few duff ones. I tend to stick to Verbatim for both printable and plain now. I think you get what you pay for. The information I store are peoples memories captured in time, so I use good quality disks to copy to.:)

Datawrite Titanium. not had a fault on over 200 burns. Mate her at uni have burnt over 2000! And not one failed. Cant remember where to get them from though. Can find out if you need.

Sony 50's 3 for 2 at the mo from Play.

I use either Verbatim or TY nearly always from SVP.

In my early days backing up the kid's DVDs, I used the cheaper blanks (Datawrite, Datasafe and unbranded) but found that they failed to read after a few months.

So I changed to Verbs and have seen much greater longevity.

However, a little while back I upgraded to a pioneer 110 drive and started encountering occasional 'hangs' when writing to the Verbs 16x DVD-Rs so I switched to TY 8X printables. These have been great and analysis shows very good results in CDSpeed tests.

Given my early experiences, I wouldn't like to trust my photos to the cheaper ones so always pay a little extra to be sure.

Interesting to hear that, it sounds very similar to something I see from timeto time with TY 16x blanks on my Pioneer 111. Were you getting to the end of the burn and the drive just kept on running and wouldn't eject?
