Yes
Well not quite, but it was free when I renewed my PP subscription by DD :D

It's the Velbon UP-4000 pretty basic but i really can't see what else i'd need in a monopod, it extends and well supports  I can full on lean on it and it doesn't collapse so my camera won't be too much for it, plus it only weighs 390g which is less than loads of other monopods i've seen. Even if it wasn't free why pay more :p

Anyway i'm pleased with it

I got one of them too. As you said, light, functional, does what it says on the tin!

Can it be used in shopping centres?

Yup, as used by all suspected terrorists :D

lol when i fully extended it for the first time I thought "Javelin" :D

ok i wanted to try my ball head on the new monopod....but it seems to be stuck on my tripod centre column :bang:

I've tried WD-40, giving it to my strong brother and even hitting it with a bit of wood  but with no sucess :(

How can i get it off? :help:

Try vibration in the form of taps with a hammer whilst securing base and trying to unscrew head.

BTW These light and cheap tripods are handy for off camera flash. I use one for bike races just to keep weight down as I walk all over the race course.

what tripod is it?

manfrotto have 3 little grub screws that screw in from underneath the head

There weren't any grub screws just plain done up too tight :bang:

Mole grips saved the day :D i've put a thin layer of copper slip there now so hopefully it won't bind again :D
