Yes
I bought the BlackRapid R-Strap last week which has just arrived, I've tried it out and it seems like a really useful bit of kit if you are carrying two bodies. Usually the problem I have is that the camera I am not using slips off my shoulder but this contraption works well and I can see it being a useful addition to my bag, I stuck the 70-200mm on the D3 and it was very comfortable and easy to walk around with. I've just noticed on the site that in a couple of weeks there are releasing an add-on to enable two cameras to be carried.

Hope this helps.

It looks a good bit of kit. I can see a use for this in my photography. Where did you purchase the strap from, and for how much? If you dont mind me asking.

Len, it was bought directly from Blackrapid, their prices are on the site.

Yes, I bought one after reading about them on here. It was delivered yesterday and although I haven't tried it in the field it feels very comfortable.

I got on of these around xmas time. Much more comfy than a regular neck strap. Also more discreet having your camera down by your side.

Is there import duty/tax to pay on the purchase that adds to the overall cost?

Yes.

You'll need to pay that on delivery. Not sure how much it is as I live over here now. It's mentioned onthe website somewhere

I've had one for a while and find it really useful. I'll have to have a look at the add on, as although I don't carry 2 bodies, I could do with somewhere to clip on a second lens. At the moment I carry the R-Strap and a Lowepro Flipside for the spare lenses. If I could get away with the R-strap it would be great. :)

They said they shipped mine on the 23rd but I still haven't seen it, how long was delivery for yours guys, really want mine before going away at Easter.

Ooh the frustration of waiting for a new bit of kit :D

Took about a month for mine to arrive. But it was xmas and you know what the post is like at that time of year!

I think it is the luck of the draw tbh, mine appeared to slip through the net but I suppose it all depends on the value of the item being shipped.

I've just checked and mine was also ordered on the 23rd so you should be getting it soon.

Hi,

you pay around 20% on the cost of the item, if it over the £18 limit for USA imports then they also add the postage into the equation, you wouldn't mind just the tax on it but the Royal Mail charge about £7 or £8 just to collect the fee ( even if it's only a couple of quid ) and YOU have to go to them for the item :bang:

More info HERE

Funnily enough I had just recommended this strap to someone who has a problem carrying/using his camera and then noticed this thread, so hopefully the strap might be beneficial.

Mike.

Im also interested in getting one of these.

Does anyone have a final cost of the strap?

i.e after purchase, postage, import tax.

It looks a neat idea, but on the demo video why did he wear a black jacket when trying to show a black R-Strap:bonk:

While looking in to this, I googled R-Strap (other search engines are available) and found a link to DIY R Strap for us cheapskates. In this article there are some good comments about the safety or lack of it from hanging you camera from the tripod mount.

I used mine for the first time at the weekend.

Very happy with it.

Likewise, I used mine yesterday for the first time and it was very comfortable and easy to use. I can highly recommend it.

I bought mine direct as well and for some reason wasn't charged any import duty even though I was expecting it.

I got mine direct. I'm in the USA at the moment so didn't have to mess around with import duty.

Thanks, took me a while to find the purchase part of the site. :bonk:
